Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of PUR CR-6000 7-Cup Water Filtration PitcherCustomer Review: No cracks yet Summary: 4 Stars
Ever since moving into a big city and bereft of a car, I can no longer purchase water by the bulk... gallon jugs and stacks of water bottles are much to heavy to carry for blocks on end. The PUR water filtration device saves me from this predicament. But that is not the only thing it saves:
1. Saves money - I can use a filter and drink as much water as my heart and blood and other bodily functions desire for two months.
2. Saves environment - No more plastic bottles in the landfill.
3. Saves time - No market trips just to buy water. No endless trips to the trash disposal to discard plastic bottles.
On top of this, the water tastes fine. You may want to pair this with a Klean Kanteen (whatever it is called) for endless water pleasures.
Note: My pitcher has not cracked yet after several months of use. I hope it never does. Your mileage may vary.
Customer Review: Excellent Water Filter Summary: 5 Stars
As a college student, I try to save money wherever I can. That means not buying 24 packs of water bottles every week. I came across this water filter after a friend recommended I look for one, and I definitely could not be more satisfied with my purchase. I bought it for only $9 shipped when it was on sale, so it was pretty much a steal.
The pitcher does a great job of filtering out cold tap water (never put hot water in it!) and does it fairly quickly. It doesn't take more than a couple minutes for the filter to process through a full top compartment and let it trickle down into the pitcher. I was also surprised as how the water tasted. It's moderately sweet but still tastes very clean.
Supposedly, I need to switch out the filter every few months, but I may just purchase another entire pitcher/filter since it's actually cheaper with Amazon Prime.
Overall, great product, 5/5 stars.
Customer Review: Love the No Taste Summary: 5 Stars
I replaced my brita pitcher with this PUR pitcher with the stage 2 filter. The Pur 2 stage filter makes perfect clean, great tasting water. The filter seems to last a long time since I can't remember when I purchased it but I know it has been over 2 months and I fill the pitcher at least 3 times a day and usually more. My coffee taste great with PUR clean water and the pets get filtered water too. Make sure your refrigerator has a filter if you use an ice-maker. Unfiltered ice-cubes can ruin the taste and some could be blaming the Pur when it's actually the ice cubes ruining the taste. Overall I love the Pur and am saving a bundle over bottled water and all those bottle deposits and don't have bags of empty bottles waiting to be recycled. Plus I don't have to carry in those heavy cases of water. Now I just use the Brita for an extra pitcher in the frig and fill it with water from my PUR .
Customer Review: Excellent Product Summary: 5 Stars
I've been using the CR-6000 for 4 months and love it. The handle is comfortable and well designed; when holding the pitcher, the thumb naturally rests on the lid, which keeps it in place; good, minimalist design. Most importantly, the water tastes great--better than bottled. It also eliminates the chlorine smell from my tap water. I store the pitcher in my fridge and refill it a little each time I use it; I keep an eye on how much water I add to the blue upper chamber, so the pitcher doesn't overfill. The few minutes it takes for the water to filter doesn't bother me; one could always use two pitchers and rotate them if more volume was needed. This is a great product, is reasonably priced, and I highly recommend it. I drink much more water because of it. If it were to dispense water that made me 20-years younger, it would be even better still.
Customer Review: Soooooo worth the trouble! Summary: 5 Stars
I have this pitcher and the larger one. I am very GRATEFUL to God for them! I love the delicious clean water that this produces! PLUS.., I just brought my pitcher with me to the hotel room where I stayed for several days and didn't have to buy any water! Then I just emptied it and took it home and filled it again!
I like to keep the big dispenser in the frig for drinking and I leave this smaller one on the counter to use for cooking or making ice cubes.
People complain because they have to soak the filter first or lift a heavy water container to refill it but I don't complain. I thank God that that's all I have to do to get fresh clean delicious water. It's better than walking down to a filthy pool that the whole town uses for bathing and everything and then carrying it home on your head in a bucket to drink! ;-) PEACE!
