Customer Review: great pot but very short cord makes it impractical

This fondue pot is a nice size, good looking & works great.
My only complaint, & it's a big one, is that the cord is very short. For an appliance that is meant to be used in the center of the table, with friends sitting around it dipping their little forks in the chocolate or whatever, the cord is a very poor design. It doesn't even reach to the edge of the table, let alone to an outlet. And it's designed with a magnet that attaches it to the pot which falls out at the least jiggle of the table. So while sitting & visiting, the pot comes unplugged & your fondue is cold, before you've realized what happened.
My advice is to try a different brand & be sure to look at the cord. Oster must be trying to save money by cutting their cord into a fourth the length it needs to be, & passing it off as a safety issue. In reality, there is no choice but to use an extension cord, or to use the pot in a buffet line, which is very impractical since people would have to wait in line to use it.
