Customer Review: Like Mike Tyson
Summary: 4 Stars

I got this blender to make smoothies. Juice and (often frozen) fruit mixed together. This blender destroys everything you put in it. Viciously. The problem is it's only got two speeds: (1) Destroy and (2) Super-Destroy. Sometimes you have to turn the blender off to let the ingredients settle, so the edge of the blade will actually contact them, instead of them continuously bouncing off the top of the insano-blades. It's not a big deal and you only have to turn it off for a split-second, but even the slowest speed is too intense for some pieces of frozen strawberries. A slower second speed, or a third speed would make this blender perfect.

This blender is very attractive and is easy to clean. I don't think this part of the review makes sense with the title, but you should know I've put more thought into this blender's performance and my review than merely its murderous and explosive instincts. It's sturdy, too. Very solid base. Probably wouldn't fall over in anything under a 7.2 earthquake.

Customer Review: Great Customer Service!

Model # PST2. Looks the same as the BPST02-B and was sold as the Prof Blender 2 months ago. Great Blender till the bottom came off. I can grind grain w/ it up to a point (then I sift it and grind the large parts again). Grinds spices very well (all spice, cinnamon sticks and smaller spices). Makes great smoothies. Malts are better w/ the shake attachment which is sold separately.

About the bottom: The black plastic bottom's threads seem to have worn out. I've had the blender almost 2 months. The bottom just keeps turning and doesn't grip the glass base tight enough to hold it on. The last smoothie I made ended up all over the counter when I lifted the jar off the blender and the plastic bottom remained behind.

I've e-mailed Oyster. I'll update when I receive a reply.

4 hours later: No need to update at a later date. Their Customer Service Dept has already responded. A replacement bottom is on its way to my house. That's CUSTOMER SERVICE!

Customer Review: Fantastic blender - handles ice like a dream
Summary: 5 Stars

Great blender - we've had ours for about a week and have made numerous margaritas, pina colatas, frapachinos, fruit slushies - good stuff. I've never had a blender capable of handling crushing ice like this one - really the best blender I've ever had hands down. It handles both crushed ice from the store and the big ice cubes that come out of our freezer equally well. I think folks out here that are complaining about how it "can't handle" frozen fruit are probably going about it wrong - I've filled the thing up completely with ice and it ripped the snot out of it in a few seconds - no problems at all. But I always have some liquid in there (water, coffee, margarita mix, milk...) - zero issues.

Also note that you don't need to get the "ice crusher" blade that Amazon so helpfully suggests you can buy with the blender - it comes with the exact same blade. Good to have a spare around I guess in case I go nuts mixing gravel or something but it's not really necessary.

Customer Review: So far so good
Summary: 5 Stars

I'm very happy with my blender; got it mostly for frozen drinks but also wanted to be able to use my Oster mini food processor attachment that I had from an Oster that burned up. Was a little hesitant to get another Oster but after looking into other options and some ridiculous prices I decided to get the Professional series one since it had a longer warranty than others in the price range and a stronger motor than my previous one. Works great, very simple to use without unnecessary buttons; frozen drinks come out nice and smooth without the smell of burning insulation I had with my previous one. If you have a refrigerator that dispenses crushed ice it's a good idea to use it as it makes for quicker and smoother margaritas. And as far as motor noise it is as you would expect for a blender, maybe a little less noise than my previous one- if you can't handle a few seconds of it , go ahead and spend a couple of hundred dollars trying to get a quieter one; all in all an excellent value.

Customer Review: So, you need a blender?
Summary: 5 Stars

Whether you are looking to create a winter wonderland of frozen snow for your next event or just really like to crush ice or other tiny things this blender is for you! I have used this blender for everything from smoothies to margaritas to crushing just ice, it does it all. The Oster solid metal drive train tears though anything you put in the way and does so handedly.

While it only has two blending settings I find that helpful and not as redundant as many other blenders. "Yes i would like my drink blended as fast as I can possibly have it, I am not concerned with the speed the blender wants to do it" If you are tired of dealing with second rate blenders that can hardly blend yogurt but you do not want to give an arm and a leg for a nice one this incredibly classy, professional blender Oster BPST02-B Professional Series Blender, Black is your best bet!
