Customer Review: VERY GOOD BLENDER
Summary: 5 Stars

i didn't purchase this blender from amazon because i found it cheaper at a local store but amazon is my number one shopping site. anyway i read some reviews before buying this blender and i couldn't believe some of the bad reviews that some of the other reviewers wrote. i want to know something, are these people from the stone age? what were they trying to crush or blend, concrete? this blender is powerful and works really well, i don't know how they could break it by blending stuff that is suppose to go in a blender. if they want to crush stones, get a stone mill or something, don't use this blender, also about the noise, this blender is so much more pleasant and easy on the ear when in use compare to those other regular blenders that make so much noise trying to blend stuff. it is not loud at all , as a matter of fact it is much quieter than most regular blenders out there. i was expecting some crazy loud noise when i was going to try it but i was extremely pleased with sound. if the instructions didn't say not to run it more than 3 mins at a time, i might have left it on for the rest of the day. i guess the people who complains about the noise sounding like a jet engine wears those ear pieces that magnifies the sound so they could hear properly, so i guess they have it cranked up to much, and maybe some of them still plays with their baby toys, so the real thing might sound loud, but in real world application, this blender sounds real smooth when working, i will recommend this blender as a 1st choice.

Customer Review: Too bad... so few options
Summary: 2 Stars

We had a Jenn-Air blender that was discontinued when Kitchenaid bought out the small appliance division, and it was the best blender I've ever had. It was powerful, quick, not too terribly loud, and the contents of the blender canister were easily circulated thanks to a brilliant canister design. Alas, that gorgeous glass canister broke, and I had to buy a new blender. I searched and searched for the one with the best reviews... I wanted power, durability, and a decent design because I leave it on the counter in my kitchen. I chose this blender that looks like "a handsome man in a tux" according to one review, and it sounded like people thought it was the best blender they'd ever used. It doesn't look too bad, granted, but that's all that's great about this blender. It doesn't chop ice well, it takes me about 20 minutes to finish blending a simple smoothie because I constantly have to stop it so I can stir the ingredients, and it so SO loud! I didn't mind only having 2 speeds, but when neither one gets the job done... I was definitely wishing for more power. It was so dissatisfying that my husband bought me a replacement of my Jenn-Air (completely discontinued now) within the week of getting this one. I have this blender still, and I suppose I might have to go back to using it if my other blender breaks again, but I sincerely think this is not the blender to buy. There has to be a better, affordable opton.

Customer Review: Industrial blender
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this blender for frozen drinks. Our 20 year old Oster would struggle with a full jar of ice. It started smoking one time so frozen drinks became a chore having to do a 1/3 jar of ice at a time. Maxim magazine reviewed four powerful blenders in a past issue and this Oster was the least expensive at $100 and performed well. I happened upon this one for less than $60 shipped. I received it in less than a week.
Let me start by saying that this thing looks like a tool more than a kitchen appliance. I happen to like that. Its retro design is still attractive enough to leave on the countertop. The switch is a simple 2 position down for pulse or up for wide open throttle. Those are the only speeds I ever used anyway and cleanig between all of the small buttons is a thing of the past. It makes fast work of a blender full of ice cubes. I pulse it a few times to break up the ice then switch to on. An air pocket develops sometime over the blades and the mix stops getting sucked to the bottom, but a shake of the jar will settle it back on the blades. By the time this happens the drink is usually done anyway.
Some reviewers complained of the noise and it is loud but not much different than my old blender. As I mentioned, I bought this for frozen drinks (bar drinks) so waking somebody up wasn't a factor. If you are looking for an all business heavy duty blender I highly recommend this one.

Customer Review: Dead after 6 weeks!
Summary: 1 Stars

This blender was great ... while it lasted, which turned out to be just 6 weeks! I don't expect to pay almost $80 for the privilege of using an appliance for 6 weeks. On top of that, I wrote Amazon's customer service to inquire about a refund or replacement and did not get a response to either of two emails I sent over a week's period. I finally decided to call and the person offered me a refund or exchange. I was originally wanting an exchange, but after coming back to this page and reading other reviews, hearing a couple that said even their replacement broke within weeks, well I figure I'm better off going to a local store to get a blender. It might still break, but at least I can walk back in with it to return it instaed of going through all this. The automatic refund processing center for Amazon doesn't work after 30 days and the blender wound up with a loose screw rattling around in it's base just 2 weeks past that deadline. This for a blender that was set on one counter out of the box and never moved more than an inch in either direction.

It seems the vibration of the motor itself is enough to shake it's internal screws loose, and since the loose screw is within the sealed portion of the base you can't possibly get to it to remove it. Defective product and I strongly suggest anyone think twice before purchasing it. Or just hope you're one of the lucky ones who gets a good one.

Customer Review: Very disapointed with this purchase-bad customer service
Summary: 2 Stars

I have owned an Oster blender for over 25 years and have always found it reliable and of good quality. When it finally died this past winter I replaced it with the BPST02-B Professional Series. After using it about 3 times the plastic collar at at the base of the blender jar cracked and broke. I contacted the seller "Better Chef Direct" and got nowhere with them even though it has a 3 year warranty. They directed me to customer service at Oster. There are a number of service centers you have to go through. The first was not interested in helping me at all and said I had to go back to the seller. I did this and the seller ignored me the second time. The second wanted all kinds of information and proof of purchase and also recommended I send them the blender which would have cost more than the part was worth. I had to send them all of the requested documentation which I did via snail mail since they said they don't use the internet. After all this I never heard back from them. I finally gave up and just ordered the part on line and paid for it. I just got it back and used the blender in making soup. After all this the lid shot off and I got scalding hot soup on me because there is no variable speed on the blender. Altogether this was a very frustrating and bad experience.
