Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Oster 4207 Electric Wine-Bottle OpenerCustomer Review: Perfect Wine Opener - I love it!! Summary: 5 Stars
The Oster wine opener was given to me as a gift from my son and his wife. They knew I was having trouble with my hands and wrists due to my carpal tunnel and this was the perfect gift for me. I have been so pleased with the ease of use and the flawless removal of the corks. No more struggling to get the corks out. I used to think the Rabbit was great, but after my hands started hurting, even the Rabbit was too hard to use. The Oster solved my problem and now I can open my own bottles again! I am an artist and I recycle my corks into art pieces. The Oster wine opener removes the corks cleanly and it does not tear up the cork as other openers are apt to do. If you are looking for a great gift for a wine enthusiast - this is definitely it!!
Customer Review: An amazing opener Summary: 5 Stars
I got this for my wife for Christmas, knowing we wanted something a little more fun than the very useful Screwpull pocket model that has served us well. When we opened the box and looked this over, we were somewhat doubtful this could do the job. But after charging it for a few hours we could not resist applying it to a bottle of white wine.
With the family gathered around, we all went "Wow" when the cork simply disappeared into the bottom of the unit. It didn't take long to figure out how to get the cork out.
We used this opener at a New Year's Eve wine party, and our guests were impressed. We could have opened an extra case or two of wine just for the entertainment!
So far it has worked flawlessly.
Customer Review: Fast and easy Summary: 5 Stars
I will admit I had some trouble using this at first because I was so impatient to get to my wine. Once I learned to wait for the unit to do its thing, I had to do nothing else. I was so accustomed to having to put in some kind of struggle to get my corks out, I was in a bit of disbelief. Now that I have used this opener a few more times, it has become so easy to operate. Push down on the switch until you hear the cork pop out. Then push up on the switch to get the cork released. Just make sure that before you start, you center the screw to the middle of the cork as much as possible because there is a little bit of wiggle room. This will help prevent your cork from fragmenting on the outer areas, as some people have experienced.
Customer Review: Oster is best, so far! Summary: 4 Stars
Was looking for a Christmas present for both my husband and a friend of ours who are wine fanatics. Saw the Waring Pro reviewed in a magazine so checked with Amazon. Read reviews on it and Metrokane, maker of the rabbit. Both had what I consider, major flaws but one review recommended the Oster 4207. Read the reviews on it and bought two. Another friend made comment on the stability of the product since it works on batteries but so far husband and friend are totally delighted with it. It even works thru the plastic corks that wineries are now switching to. Think it's a good buy if your looking for a cork screw. My husband was in BevMo at Xmas and they were selling them and clerk said they couldn't keep them on the shelves.
Customer Review: Works great as expected. Wonderful presents for all. Summary: 5 Stars
I got 4 of these electric corkscrews with the buy 3 get 1 free Amazon offer. I gave these out to friends and relatives as cheap, but stylish Christmas gifts and kept one for myself.
It was the talk of Christmas at my girlfriend's house. It worked perfectly and is great for wine connosieurs and people that have trouble opening wine.
In addition, people were marvelling at the stylish looks and small footprint on kitchen counters.
The base plugs into the wall and you can rest the corkscrew on the base to charge. While charging, a little red light lights up at the top of the corkscrew. People were surprisingly amazed by this. (Don't ask me why -- It does look very stylish though.)
