I've had this opener for a little over a month now and love it. It's successfully extracted every cork we've given it, real and synthetic. We used to joke that if there was a screw cap bottle and a corked bottle in our wine fridge we'd tend to go for the screw cap because it was easier to open! When we got the Oster, we started regretting the screw caps because it was so much fun to use the Oster. The foil remover is also very nice, though since it's located behind the opener in the stand I sometimes forget to take the foil off first with it. Is that a criticism? I love this product! Not that opening a wine bottle by any means is difficult and needs to be improved, but this makes it more impressive, especially in front of company and those you wish to impress. Or if you have a hand injury (carpel tunnel) and can't quite squeeze the bottle or opener as necessary to remove the cork. This clever gadget does all the work for you, including spitting the cork back out in your hand when you are done. My sister was so delighted with it I had to buy one for her to be awaiting her return when she got home from her visit with me.Customer Review: Great wine bottle opener especially for older people

My Italian grandparents love their wine. After noticing that my grandpa was having trouble with the "Genie" wine opener, I was in search of an alternative. I found this product and bought it based on the great reviews. They LOVE it. It is so easy to use. They live in a 55+ community and show off the toy to all of their friends and neighbors. My grandma is so proud that she is able to use it and finds any excuse to open a bottle.
This is the best tool to open wine bottles for people who are having trouble using traditional bottle openers.

This wine opener is absolutely amazing! I bought it after I saw it on one of the morning shows never expecting it to be as good as they said. However I was totally surprised. I've tried many different openers and always wound up with cork in the wine or the whole cork pushing down into the bottle. It works very well on both regular corks and synthetic corks. I have successfully removed the cork every time I used it, which is fairly often. I plan on buying a couple for Christmas presents for people who are hard to buy for. I followed the instructions, many times, but still can't get the cork pulled out of the wine bottle.
The Oster wine opener cork-screw goes in just fine. However, instead of pulling out the cork, the cork-screw just reverses direction and comes out of the cork. I'm 75 and bought this after reading a review on how great it was for older folks with arthritis. Well, maybe I have a "lemon" but I certainly would love someone from Oster tell me is I'm doing something wrong.
