Plastic button broke after six months. Will buy another and another. Recommended as a treat for yourself, or as a present for Christmas, birthdays, hostesses, wedding showers. Open bottles effortlessly! It helps to read the instructions, however - Press the down button while the screw goes into the cork and until the cork then comes all the way out of the bottle and up into the chamber. Press the up button to release the cork from the chamber. The tendency may be to press the down button until the screw goes into the cork and the up button to pull out the cork. The opener worked on normal cork on a bottle of good beer. The cork was already half way out of the bottle, so I think it made it a lot easier, but when I used it on a synthetic cork on a bottle of wine all the way in the neck of the bottle, it woudln't go in straight. After I got the synthetic cork out, I found it pushed to the side. The cork wasn't even on the screw. It had pushed the screw aside and ripped one of the wires out. The screw is not very sturdy or secure. I'm going to go back to a traditonal man-powered win opener. Good ole' steel is better than whaterever connects the screw to the motor in this thing.Customer Review: better than sliced bread

What a fantastic invention!
The human that produced this modern marvel deserves a life time supply of the best wines. This is the greatest little gadget to come along in years.
I found it by accident on Amazon and thought it would be a fun little gag gift for my husband.
Little did I know what a winner it would be.
It is easy to use. The design is sleek, modern and is an instant conversation piece. We love it.
Recommend it for that hard to please person on your gift list and its a number one gift for yourself.
Get it, you won't be disappointed, -- unless you don't drink wine.

Oh, how I love this product!!! I received it as a gift, so I didn't really have any expectations when I opened it to try it out...but OMG!!! If you open wine often (as I do) there's no way you can't find the Oster to be AMAZING!!! It really does open bottles-just hit the "up" arrow and it takes the corks right out....in like, 30 seconds, no less! Then, hit the down arrow to make it give the cork right back to you-even quicker! With NO damage-you can place it right back to stopper the open bottle.
To be honest, I can't believe this only costs $20-it is amazing and I love love LOVE it-and you will too!!

I purchased this item for my fiancee for Valentine Day because we entertain alot and open plenty of wine. I know how guys love their tools and gadgets so I knew he would love to be the first of his friends to have one! I was sooooo right! The wine opener looks so chic just sitting out on the counter ready for use. Its so easy to operate as all you have to do is remove the foil from the top of the bottle with the cutter included and then place the opener unit on the top of the bottle and push the button to remove the cork. Great little product that you will look forward to using with each wine bottle!!
