Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Orka Silicone Spoon, GreenCustomer Review: A spoon is not always a spoon Summary: 5 Stars
I live alone and I cook lots of soups, beans, rice dishes, etc., then eat from the pot (don't get all jerked out of shape, I have been housebroken and don't embarass others in nice restaurants or MOST other places in public!!!!) and the spoon also serves double duty as an eating utensil. Doesn't scratch the non-stick pot and cleans up quickly and flawlessly in an eyeblink with no seams to catch dishwater or other unsavory food "enhancements". It suits the solitary side of my lifestyle very well-- clean up the aftermath of supper so quickly I'm not inclined to put it off.
BTW- for others of the same efficiency driven state of mind, another wonderful thing I bought at Amazon is a few 4 cup, low profile (short and wide) pyrex measuring cups to make or reheat stuff in the microwave with an eeye to eliminating non-stick for cooking. I got them at an exceptional price but they would be a good deal for me at 30% more. They make a meal of abundant size with plenty of room left at the top so you don't have to mop up the microwave, are tough (normally easily survive drops to the linoleum)and also clean up quickly. I even use them to make tea (for ice tea) in.

I started to look for replacement utensils and decided on silicone since I've heard so much great stuff about silicone. My old ones are all scratched up and some are peeling, making me worried about part of it coming off in my food. I love this spoon because the entire thing is one piece instead of it being a silicone spoon with a plastic handle or something else. There are no crevices for food / liquids to become trapped and it cleans up very easily. I've been using it quite a bit since I got it a little over a month ago. I find myself reaching for this one everytime I make something because it holds up great. I love that it doesn't get hot, so far hasn't warped in high heat cooking, and cleans up easily. If you are looking for silicone utensils, check out this one. It's become one of my most used pieces already.

The main issue I have with the spoon is that it's too flexible, making it difficult to stir things that are too viscous or heavy. Also, after about two years of use, it's developed a small bubble like bulge on the spoon surface (still usable).
I'm replacing it with a Tovolo Silicone Solid Spoon, 14-Inch instead.

I love my Orka silicone spoon. It doesn't scrape my pots and nothing sticks to it. I would have a drawer full if they weren't quite so pricey.
Customer Review: oo soft Summary: 3 Stars
i find it too soft for using in stir fry. need to use the one with the wood handle.
