Customer Review: MEH, Best of the choices I had

It's OK...I did not over-fill, but the cubes are rock-solid and do NOT just pop out like they are supposed to. In order to pop the cubes, you have to run a little hot water over the bottom, sideways (so as not to get any water inside the top), then push the bottoms to pop the cubes. Would have been nicer not to have to go through the extra step but it's the best tray I've found for space-saving purposes because they stack so nicely and are covered to prevent odors. I found I can very neatly stack five of them all the way to the top of my freezer and I don't need a separate container to store the popped-out ice in. The other bonus is the cover prevents the cubes from popping out onto the floor :-)

Note also that the cover does not snap shut, it just sits in the housing, securely. In case that's an issue for you.

For Functionality I really prefer the Joseph Joseph QuickSnap Ice Tray Joseph Joseph QuickSnap Ice Tray, White or my old antique metal tray with the lever (a replica of which you can get on Amazon in stainless steel for about $30: Stainless Steel Ice Cube Tray - BPA Free). However, neither has a cover or stacks as nicely (the metal tray doesn't really stack that well at all).

It seems nobody has invented the perfect ice tray yet and any one of the three I picked above would be decent choices. It's all according to what you need most.
