I am changing the rating from 5 stars to 3 stars because the tip cracked and a small chip came off. There are no cracks yet in the other Orka silicone utensils (spoon, etc) I have, but then haven't used them as often. Also the silicone material retains cooking odors even after using baking soda, boiling water and CitriSolv in attempts to remove odors.
Earlier review: I use it for saute, stir-fry, pancakes etc. Compared with the hard nylon type, the Orka silicone is superior: more flexible, easier to clean, gentler on the cookware, but still stiff enough to break up food in the pan. The design is very good: all one piece, sturdy with a nice size handle that fits well in the hand and in the utensil drawer. It is nice to have a choice of colors.
I plan to get other Orka silicone utensils (spoon, spatula etc) to replace other nylon utensils which have a tendency to flake in high heat, and therefore pose health concerns.
