Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Orka A47221 Ice Pop Molds, White BaseCustomer Review: Works Great! Summary: 5 Stars
These work great! I've used unsweetened Apple Juice (sets up nice and hard!) and leftover smoothies (fruit based mixtures tend to set up softer) and they've both worked great. The sleeves come right off and I never have to run water on them. I've found the easiest way to get them started is to roll the top edge back over itself, then pull the tab and it pulls right off.
The only problem we've had is that one of my kids knocked the tray out of the freezer and the edge of one of the plastic holders (the part that holds the popsicle in the tray) broke off. I don't think it's "fixable" and the Popsicle atill stays in the tray, I just have to watch it when putting it in the freezer.
I highly recommend this product! :)
Customer Review: Good product but does have a few cons Summary: 4 Stars
Overall, happy with these molds. As mentioned by many reviewers, one of the best things about them is the fact that there is no need to run hot water over them in order to get them to "release". They are also a fun shape that my daughter loves. The cons are: 1. Difficult to store in the freezer for initial freezing. They need to be exactly upright so as not to spill liquid all over your freezer. This gets a bit challenging to find space in my bottom mount freezer and to get them situated without spilling. 2. Related to #1 - because they are silicone they move around more easily than "harder" plastic molds, and this makes spills more likely upon initial entry to the freezer.
Customer Review: Love these! Summary: 5 Stars
Perfect for a child - too small for an adult.
I bought these for my 3 year old. She never finishes her yogurt (those small 4 oz ones) and I do not like throwing it away. I fill one of these up with the left overs and she is more than happy to eat it another time. In fact she always asks for these saying "I want a yogurt popsicle with a stick please!"
Someone had commented on these being hard to take out of the mold - honestly it is so easy, I can only imagine they are not doing it right. The silicon mold just turns inside out, like removing a sock from your foot. In fact, I get it started and my 3 year old loves to pull it out of the mold herself.
Customer Review: Perfect size for toddlers Summary: 5 Stars
These are perfect size for small kids, no more than 2oz per pop. Don't fill all the way up to the top because it will be hard to get the part inside the drip cup out. For those who found it hard to unmold, just peel it (turn the mold inside out). I bought the white set first and it was perfect, no dripping. Then I bought a brown set just for a different color. However, the handle and drip cup are separate pieces for the brown set (not for the white set), so they would drip a little bit if you don't eat fast enough. Fortunately, they're small enough that usually my kids can finish before they drip.
Customer Review: I love these Summary: 4 Stars
These pop molds work just as I'd hoped they would and they are the perfect size for a little something cold and sweet after dinner. I fill them with fruit smoothie and my daughter loves them. They peel off very easily and make a cute swirl pattern. The only reason I took off a star is that it's a rather delicate operation when you fill the pop molds and put them in the freezer. I wish the lids fit a little more tightly and/or there was a sturdier construction to the pop mold holder. It works OK though, and the results are really good.
