I hate getting products in strong, awkward hard plastic containers. There is no easy way to open them. I have tried knives, screwdrivers, chisels, and scissors. For me it is tough to open them without damaging the product inside.
Then I heard about the "OpenX Dual Blade Universal Package Opener." It is not expensive so I thought it was likely a scam. I mean those packages are tough. How could a device so simple and cheap do the job?
It actually works! Now I wonder why I didn't think of it and invent the thing - I could have funded my retirement. Well my frustration is down and I can now order products and not worry how they are packaged. I recommend this product.
I rate it high because of the frustration relief.

Ever try to open those plastic sealed packages that cell phones and batteries and such come in? You have to take a scissors and cut through the hard plastic, cut through the instructions and sometimes even cut through the product itself. Unless you have OPENX. This tool, which I picked up at Office Depot, has two small blades that easily pierce the packaging and slide through the plastic until your product just comes out unharmed. It's so clever and easy, I can't believe someone hadn't thought of this years ago. It's also great for cutting through packing tape on any package that comes in the mail... even Amazon boxes!
I have two: one for my toolbox, the other for the junk drawer in my kitchen... and I use one or the other every day.

I bought my first OpenX several years ago after reading about it on a website. I bought one and used it all the time for opening those annoying plastic packages that seem indestructible. It works great.
Since then, I've moved and my OpenX was essential for opening tons of boxes. I was recently married and the OpenX was used almost daily for gifts and packages that would arrive.
It's simple to use and effective. I bought 2 more to replace my aging first one (which lasted several years). It's great on plastic packages and for cardboard boxes too. I buy so much stuff on Amazon that this is essential.
Highly recommended.

I purchased this for Christmas for my elderly mother with severe arthritis in her hands, packaging opening is a real challenge for her.
The singular positive comment I can make: it was good for a laugh, as all of us gathered on that holiday failed to be able to open ANYTHING with it, including it's own clamshell packaging!
I absolutely DO NOT recommend this to anyone except as a lesson in futility. (If you happen to need one!)
I do recommend an ordinary box cutter/utility knife, which is what I intend to purchase for my mother to make up for this, and wish very much that I had just done that in the first place!

This product will make you laugh. Its supposed to be used on those really hard to open plastic packages. Theres an even a picture on it of a person struggling to open one of those hard to open packages. Hmmmm, WHY DID YOU PACKAGE THE OPENER IN ONE OF THOSE HARD TO OPEN Its hilarious!! Its like one of those possible to do Chinese puzzles. Ok so after tearing apart the packaging using my swiss army knife and a pair of cutters, I try it out and all it is is a cheaply made box cutter or utility knie. Would not reccomend to buy, just get a good pair of scissors and a utility knife and save yourself 10 bucks and avoid a scam
