IJUST BROKE MINE AFTER 3 OR 4 YRS OF USE I PURCHASED MINE AND MORE(AS GIFTS) WHEN IT FIRST CAME OUT AND I LOVE IT. YOU DO HAVE TO QUARTER YOUR VEGGIES BEFORE USE . THE ONLY NEGATIVE I CAN TELL YOU IS IT IS EXTREMELY NOISEY IF YOU LIVE IN AN APARTMENT WITH LITTLE INSULATION.
I AM DEBATING ON GETTIN ANOTHER OR TRYING TO FIND SOMETHING A LITTLE LESS NOISEY SO MY NEIGHBOR WILL BE HAPPIER WITH ME.I GAVE SOME AS CHRISTMAS GIFTS ONE YEAR AND EVERYONE LIKES THEIRS ALSO AND LIVE IN A HOUSE WHERE NOISE IS NOT A PROBLEM. ALL AND ALL I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS. ITS AWESOME FOR DICEING SMALL VEGGIES AND MAKES THE BEST POTATOES FOR FRYING. GUESS I WILL ORDER ANOTHER ONE NOISE AND ALL!

I have found this product extremely difficult to use. When I attempted to chop half an onion, no matter how hard I leaned on it, it just didn't work. I have to cut the onion into slices no more than 1/2 inch high, and I still have to lean of the top with all my weight to get it to work. Then I tried firm tomatoes and celery - it crushed them! And forget about potatoes and carrots.
As for cleaning, the enclosed comb-like device makes it easy to clean the gripping surface in the lid, but cleaning the metal cutting grid is difficult and downright dangerous. I would not recommend this product to anyone.

Was skepital at first due to all the negative feedback people wrote about the item, it was too late to turn back since payment was made, but im very happy with the product and its wonderful, use it everyday to make my salad, highly recommend it espicially if you are on diet and dont want to have the hassle of cutting up vegetables everyday. Must advise that all vegetables need to be cut into pieces first in order to fit in the cutting surface. Bit dissapointed in the delivery charges, way too high. I received my chopper as a gift almost 10 years ago. I have used it with a variety of potatoes, onions and cucumbers. It has worked very SMOOTHLY AND EASILY. Tonight, I quickly turned and knocked it to the floor where it broke. I cried...or that could be from the onions, but anyway...I am on here tonight ordering another. I could see how someone in a hurry could slam it down and break it, but after almost 10 years of use, it took me practically throwing it to the floor to break it. This handy machine does an amazing and quick job cutting onions into tasty morsels. Granted, you have to apply strong pressure at the end of the cutting lid -- but you can adjust the size the onion to be cut according to your strength. My partner requested this machine because she gets a nasty allergic response (watery and itchy eyes) when she chops onions with a regular knife. Using this onion chopper helps her avoid the allergy. The machine comes with a handy little brush that makes cleaning the bladed grating fairly easy.
