Customer Review: not bad, not bad
Summary: 3 Stars

I like this thing. It fits just above "don't want to use the knife" and "not warrant the Cuisinart." Honestly, for most of what I use it for a knife would be fine, i.e. dicing veggies, however it is "fun" to use.
It takes some muscle because you're putting a chunck in between an attached grate and grid. After getting past that, you dice away.
It comes with different size dicing grates, I've done olives, pickles, cheese, eggs, etc. It's got a handy measured markings on the side. Neat.
Included with is a genius little comb to clean out the top grid, so simple yet useful.
Things I don't like- chop area is pretty small only a 4x4 area maybe. If the food hangs over this area it gets stuck in the wells on the side, easy to clean but still annoying. You have to tilt the thing to move contents to the end so you can chop more.
It needs to sit on steady surface before choppping, you are going to put a considerable amount of force to it and it would hurt if say your cutting board moved. You must remove all remnants from previous chopped food which is tedious, since it's going to be in the grid above and the blades below and of course the container compartment. So if you chop an egg, before a pickle and not do this, it will be a pickle flavored egg. Just plan in sequence.
All and all, it's a fun little thing to have, but totally not necessary or taking the place of anything you own.

Customer Review: Not perfect but really helps

I received this as a gift as my parents know how I love to cook. It does work well for all vegetables and fruits. I prefer to hand chop as it saves clean-up but if I'm making soup or something like that which requires a lot of small chopped vegetables, it works like a charm.

Customer Review: It's not quick or safe

I have found this product extremely difficult to use. When I attempted to chop half an onion, no matter how hard I leaned on it, it just didn't work. I have to cut the onion into slices no more than 1/2 inch high, and I still have to lean of the top with all my weight to get it to work. Then I tried firm tomatoes and celery - it crushed them! And forget about potatoes and carrots.
As for cleaning, the enclosed comb-like device makes it easy to clean the gripping surface in the lid, but cleaning the metal cutting grid is difficult and downright dangerous. I would not recommend this product to anyone.

Customer Review: Disappointing product

I thought I was ordering the Vidalia FooD Chopper. Instead I got the Onion Chopper. It was for a gift since I had used the Vidalia Food Chopper for over a year and really enjoyed it. I was very upset when I found out that the gift I sent was only a small knife onion chopper and then the person who received it promptly broke off the corner of the plastic. Apparently this product is not warranted for breakage!!! BEWARE

Customer Review: love this chopper!!

I love this thing!! I have made fresh salsa everyday. I have no trouble chopping onions. You need to slice the onion using slices about 1/4" to 1/3" thick. Carrots need to be sliced in half. It is great for dicing onions for cooking. Even celery can be diced. I would recommend highly!!
