Customer Review: Simple elegance that lasts

I've had the 4-place Oneida Flight set for around ten years. It has held up very well, even now that I have a dishwasher. The pieces are light but sturdy, and have not gotten any stains or scratches although they are used almost every day.
Recently, I bought the 45-piece 8-place set from Amazon. It arrived sooner than expected and in good condition. I look forward to having matching silverware at dinner parties, and the serving utensils are a nice bonus. The new pieces are certainly shinier than those from the old set, though.
However, the main reason I'm giving 4 instead of 5 stars is because of one strange surprise. Apparently in the last ten years Oneida has significantly changed the shape of the Flight butter knife. The knives from my original set have noticeably thicker, more rounded handles than the knives from the new set.
While I doubt our dinner guests will notice our butter knives are different shapes, I would have liked a warning that the current design was different from the earlier design. While I would still have bought the new set, customers should know in advance that the current Flight butter knives won't match sets bought several years ago.
