It was discouraging to see that others had a similar experience to mine. The product worked fine a few times, but after only a few jars the inner clamp broke. (I then opened the jar by hand, so it wasn't the jar's fault!) This happened on both the one I used and the one I bought for my mother.

I have had 2 of these since Christmas (5 months). They are slow but opened most jars. However when they tried to open one that was a bit hard, slipped and broke. Customer Review: Worked well, then Broke.

I purchased the onetouch Jar opener on 17 Dec 2007.
My wife loved it.
But it broke two months later after opening only three jars.
The inner jaws (plastic) slipped and broke on a simple 3.5 inch jar..
The warranty was for only one month.
Now I see why.

I bought this product for my mom. She has some decreased hand strength. She had a really hard time opening the battery compartment and inserting the batteries. Other than that she likes it and finds it very helpful.
