Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Omega J8005 Nutrition Center Single-Gear Commercial Masticating Juicer, Chrome and BlackCustomer Review: Awesome juicer. Summary: 5 Stars
I love this juicer. It's easy to assemble, use, take apart, and clean. The pulp it produces is dry. The juice is delicious (current favorite is carrot-apple-ginger). I haven't tried making nut butters, pasta, or baby food - but I'll get to that last one in the next few months. I'm pretty excited about making organic, local baby food without having to pay through the nose for it. I've had the juicer for about two months and have had zero problems with it.
Yes, you have to cut your produce into small pieces; the juicer likes them better that way. But what's the big deal? If you're eating a lot of fruits and veggies you're gonna be chopping on a regular basis anyway. Get over it.
Don't waste your time with high-speed, electric juicers. The 10-year warranty on this baby alone makes it worth the price.
Customer Review: wonderful juicer! Summary: 5 Stars
I just bought this juicer a few days ago and have used it a few times already and absolutely love it!!! It looks very nice and modern and has a very sturdy frame and design. I did alot of research before purchasing this one and decided to go with it since it also juices wheatgrass and leafy greens. I'm so glad I chose this one! It is very easy to use, is very nice looking, very quiet, not too hard to clean, and the juice is absolutely delicious!!! I just came up with this recipe for 2-3 glasses and LOVE it: 1/3 cucumber, 1 kiwi, 2 apples, 3 celery stalks, 3 carrots, 1 orange and a squeeze of lime/lemon juice. It is soooooo delicious and I feel refreshed and re-energized after. [...] I recommend this to anyone and think it is a great investment in your health! Its my first juicer and I already feel like a pro! =)
Customer Review: Does a great job with fruit, despite what you might read elsewhere Summary: 5 Stars
I'd read many places that compared to centrifugal juicers, masticating juicers like this are better at juicing less "juicy" stuff like leafy vegetables but worse at juicing fruit. Don't believe it! I've owned both the basic Omega centrifugal juicer and the pulp-ejecting centrifugal version, and this 8005 model (which is the only one I use now) I believe does as good a job on fruit as those other models. And the ease of cleaning on this model blows the others away.
I juice oranges, grapefruit, and apples regularly. I think the yield is high and the ejected pulp is very dry. Not a scientific test I know, but I guess my point is just that if you are on the fence about this model because you've heard it isn't as good on fruit, I'd recommend you go ahead with it. You won't regret it.
Customer Review: This is fun! Summary: 5 Stars
So Ive had this juicer for about two weeks now, its my first juicer so i cant really compare it like other reviewers but so far i have to say this thing is cool! I researched a lot and looked around and decided on this guy and im glad i did. Ive juiced apples, carrots, beets, broccoli, celery, spinach, wheat grass and some other fruits berries ect. and every thing did great and boy is it fun watching this thing eat a carrot! the crunching carrot is louder then the machine, its very quiet. i could totally see myself juicing in the morning while people sleep. Its also easy to take apart and clean, no biggie. Ive only been juicing about twice a day and eventually plan to do a lot more as time goes on so ill get to see how it handles it. I have a feeling it will be fine.
Customer Review: Just so much better than centrifugal juicers Summary: 5 Stars
We bought a centrifugal juicer two years ago and ended up using it less and less. The main problem is cleaning. There were so many parts to clean, and so difficult to clean. Also it's very loud, and the pulp is still pretty wet.
This juicer is so much better in my opinion. It is worth the extra money, seriously, if you make a lot of juice, particularly vegetable juice.
Pros:
1)very quiet,
2)unbelievably easy to clean,
3)makes more juice,
4)makes juice tastes better,
5)it can juice green leaves.
Cons:
1)expensive,
2)takes a bit more counter space
3)doesn't seem to juice pineapple very well
