Like several other reviewers, I bought this specifically to bake corn bread. I've tried to find a pan that cooks as well as my grandmother's 50+ year old pan and this one certainly does! I've tried all types of baking pans, but this one is perfect for corn bread - it holds heat well and creates a corn bread with the perfect dark crunchy crust and tender crumb. The pre-seasoning helps a lot, and it is incredibly easy to clean; just wipe it out with a paper towel after each use, and occasionally apply a very small amount of fat to the inside and turn it upside-down over a gas stove for a few minutes. Unlike aluminum or Teflon coated pans, cast iron will only get better with age and use. It will probably last my life time and then some!
