I bought this set of mixing bowls because my mother-in-law was about to come for a visit and she always complains about how I never have enough mixing bowls...although she never actually uses any mixing bowls when she's at my house.
Anyway....I'm really glad I bought them because they are just wonderful. Besides the pretty colors that they come in, they are very thick and sturdy. They also have a rubber ring on the bottom to help keep them from sliding on the counter when you're mixing. I've used them so many times for my kids' parties and when we have company and they look really cute with chips and dip in them on the table.
