Customer Review: Take note: Part brushed/satin stainless, part polished

To confirm other posters, the center lid part is polished stainless & the little top cap and the shaker torso is brushed/satin stainless.
To me, the shaker looks odd this way. I just can't get past the notion that the company had made this product in both a polished and a brushed/satin version. And the inventory came up excess on these polished center lids ... and so they just assembled some of them mis-matched like this to get rid of them.
The shape of the shaker is cool, of course, and it makes it easier to grip as well. A number of websites stated the reason this shaker is top-heavy in shape is in tribute to Marilyn Monroe. Maybe. There's no page for this product on the Oggi website so I can't be sure about that. But it'll make a nice talking point when I am using it to cool down some iced coffee for guests.
Btw, the availability of this gizmo is already pretty limited. Meaning it's probably gone out of production. I was able to find just one vendor in stock and that was over on WeeBay and I had to pay a 30% premium at that. So if you want one, jump on it.
If they ever build these things again ... and it's done either totally satin or totally polished, I'll likely snag one ... and write this one off.
