Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of OXO SteeL Garlic Press, Stainless

Customer Review: U GOTTA SKIN 'EM
Summary: 5 Stars

The skin around the garlic clove impedes proper pressing of garlic. It causes a (large) portion of garlic to be "pressed" around the edge of the plunger and wasted. Removing the skin prevents this and also increases the amount of minced garlic by 2 or 3. I really like the oxo. It is cheap and well made and produces excellent quality minced garlic. Only one glove at a time though. BTW the healthiest way to eat garlic is to add it AFTER you are done cooking (Look it up).

Customer Review: Very satisfied
Summary: 5 Stars

Heavy, well finished, comfortable, easy to clean. Any tool (culinary or otherwise) whose purpose is to apply force and crush things should have lots of metal in it, right? Of course. Rather than being tossed in the garbage in pieces after a couple of years (and a few choice words - like our last 5 garlic presses), I think my great grandchildren will be saying "They don't make 'em like they used to..." as this very same press easily chews through its gazillionth clove.

Customer Review: I use fresh garlic now
Summary: 5 Stars

Because trying to mince garlic with a knife was such a hassle, I wasn't using much garlic, although I love fresh garlic. So I thought I'd try a garlic press. I went to Walmart and bought a cheapo garlic press (about 6 or 7 bucks). I was very disappointed. So I went to Amazon and checked out the reviews on garlic presses, and saw that this Oxo garlic press got good reviews. Bought it. Love it. Now I use fresh garlic all the time. Great product.

Customer Review: Best garlic press I've ever used
Summary: 5 Stars

Being an amateur chef and loving to cook, many garlic choppers, dicers,
mincers or squeezers have come and gone through my kitchen/galley. I say
galley because I spent many years on submarines and sailors love garlic,
on almost anything. This garlic press leaves the husk and gives you fine
little pieces with the accompaning juice to add to your recipe.
Try it...you'll like it.

Customer Review: heavy duty slick tool
Summary: 5 Stars

This is a kitchen "candy". Very slick looking and functional. I like how heavy and substantial this garlic press feel in your hand. The handles are soft on another side and won't hurt you while your pressing your garlic. I try to just hand wash it and not to put in a dishwasher, but even if I do dish wash it, it seems to be fine. I don't see any coating peeling or anything like that which I have experienced with a different brand garlic press.
