But seriously, I've used those cheapie ones you get at the 99 cent store and the openings they made were always so small it took forever to pour the contents of the can out. I also feel the tip was not sharp enough on those cheap openers. This opener gives you a large enough puncture (and the tip is sharp) so you don't waste time piercing the can and pouring contents (mothers and mechanics understand this). And it's large enough to give the leverage you need to open heavy duty resturant size cans. And if you have to open a lot of cans or if you have a dexterity problem (arthritis, disability, etc.) the wide, long, cushioned handle on this opener is a huge plus.Customer Review: Best Bottle Opener I've Ever Used

I went through a lot of bottle openers before I found this one. My daughter drinks juicy juice in the can so I needed a working bottle opener. I never thought that most bottle openers, well for me anyways, did not work. I was stunned. I've bought over seven or eight different bottle openers that did not work. Thankfully I found this one. I read the reviews, then I ordered one. When I got the bottle opener & tried it I was so happy... I Had Found A Bottle Opener That Actually Worked. This is an old school bottle opener. The pointy end is *sharp* and makes quick work of punching holes in cans of juice or hershey's syrup. It has a nice heft to it without being clunky or unwieldly. I have an opener from another popular brand and I'm afraid I might break my foot if I drop it. For such a small utensil, it doesn't need to be any bulkier than it is.
It looks nice, too, if you care. Very functional, comfortable in hand and seems quite durable being steel and all.

Ok, actually I am not a professional beer drinker, but I do enjoy a nice beer every now and then--mostly when I am tired of red wine. I was tired of not having a "real" bottle opener when I wanted a beer so I succumbed and bought this little devil. I like it a lot and it hangs off my little mesh spice shelf for a permanent place of residency. It's also great for opening cans of evaporated milk.Customer Review: Sturdy

I have never met an OXO product that I didn't love and this opener is no exception! It is is sturdy, so the ends do not bend when you are trying to puncture a heavy weight can, it fits well in the hand so you can get a good grip on what you are doing. The only think that would make it perfect would be if there were a magnet on the back so it could be hung on the Fridge.
