I bought this to replace my small Ikea salad spinner. I used to have a tedious process of rinsing, spinning and packing my lettuce away. I love this Oxo spinner because it is big enough to hold a whole head of lettuce (romaine at least). And after spinning it is dry enough that I can just leave it in the bowl to store it. I also don't have to break my arm spinning it at hard as I can. It does the work for you and looks nice too. I don't know if you can go wrong with this brand! Spendy yes. But it would have been cheaper if I hadn't bought the cheap salad spinner to begin with.Customer Review: It spun for about 5 weeks

I bought the smaller unit. This spinner was fun to use and really did a great job of spinning the water out of freshly cleaned lettuce. But cleaning the unit is difficult. The top/lid is supposed to easily snap apart for cleaning. This happened effortlessly the first time. The second time was more difficult. By about the fifth time I could not separate the two halves. Instead the plunger mechanism unlocked itself, the spring popped out - and I was never able to reassemble the unit (without cracking the plastic). Cleaning this unit is an exercise in frustration!Customer Review: Best thing but keep it away from the stove.

Can't say enough good things about this spinner but I've ultimately had to ditch the plastic and go with the stainless steel model. Typically when I wash greens etc., I set the whole thing out to air dry on top of the stove. Unfortunately, I've run through my 3rd and final plastic spinner because someone invariably uses an adjacent burner w/o moving the spinner. The outer bowl melts and warps, preventing the inner basket from spinning. I've rescued them in the past by reheating the warped spot and restoring it to its normal shape, but I'm done with that now.Customer Review: Save money, eat healthier and stop buying salad kits

Stop buying bagged salad kits and save money on your grocery bill. Salad kits cost about $3-$4 per pound (most bags come in 12oz or 9oz sizes).
This is a huge time saver for home-cooked meals. No more shaking wet lettuce in the sink! The spinner rotates quickly with a few light pushes. It also has a brake and the container can double as a storage bowl for leafy greens.
The spinner works great for more than salad. Try cabbage for slaw, shrimp for cocktails and vegetable slices for grilling and baking.

When I received this Oxo salad spinner as a gift, I gave away my trusty MIU salad spinner.
Big mistake!
The Oxo salad spinner didn't spin anywhere near as fast as the MIU spinner = lettuce doesn't get dry enough. Plus, the Oxo salad spinner was big, clunky and hard to store.
Do yourself a favor and buy the MIU salad spinner. It holds more lettuce, spins faster (so your lettuce gets drier), and actually fits inside your fridge when you want to chill your freshly washed lettuce for dinner.
