Customer Review: Perfect for saute pan and soup cooking- couldn't cook without it

First things first... this is NOT a turner. It would be useless for that. The product is misnamed.
What it does better than anything else I've ever had is stirring up kind of saute pan dinners or soups or chili or stews that start with chopped vegetables like onions, peppers and chopped cabbage, zucchini etc.
The flat bottom edge gives you a good clean sweep across the bottom of the pan. (I never could understand how the pointy tip of a wooden spoon was supposed to be useful for this). It also lets you easily break up clumps of meat and scrape up anything that's gotten stuck on the bottom.
I've tried every version of this shape of utensil that I could find. This one is the very best because it's strong enough to handle heavy stirring and the handle is big enough to be comfortable. (The little bamboo ones don't feel good in the hand and are too dainty for soup pots IMHO)
I've had mine for at least a few years. It has not cracked, although the edge has chipped a bit. I hand wash it, but sometimes it gets left in the sink or in a soaking pot and it has survived just fine. If I hadn't accidentally burned the handle, I wouldn't have had to search high and low for a replacement.
I'm glad that I can still get this one.
