I love this brush. I bought it for pastry making, but my husband had another idea. He was grilling a few weeks back and needed to brush the sauce on the chicken. He found the brush and used it. Of course I won't be using this brush for pastries anymore (already purchased a second one), BUT!!! Had this been a regular bristled brush, I would have to thrown it out. But this SILICONE brush was so easy to wash! I simply put it in the dishwasher (try doing it with a bristled brush...) and it came out wonderful and clean. It is now in my husband's grilling drawer as one of his invaluable grilling accessories. Thanks OXO!Customer Review: My most used brush

Prior to getting this brush, I had a bristle pastry brush that was starting to lose it bristles, and those that were left were getting brittle. I was hesitant about getting a silicone brush because I didn't think would would hold enough oil or marinade. Boy, was I wrong. I bought 3 Oxo brushes in different sizes, but tend to use this one the most because of its smaller size. I use it primarily for basting fish and meats with marinades or seasoned oil. It holds a surprising amount without dripping. Needless to say, all of my bristle brushes have been retired.Customer Review: Easy clean up.

I find that I'm giving up the fine control and substance retention of a bristled brush for the ease of clean up and durability of this one, which is okay. The trade off is worth it because I've never used a bristled pastry brush after first use/washing without either dropping bristles or inwardly shuddering at the thought that there's always gonna be gunk left on it that just can't be completely cleaned out/off. Yuck.
This one is sooo easy to swirl around in hot, soapy water and drip dry that I find myself using it almost daily.

These were either top rated by America's Test Kitchen or Cooks Illustrated, so I thought I'd upgrade my old pastry brush when the bristles started falling out. This works great. I really like the fact that it is silicone so it feels like it can be cleaned better (I don't have a dishwasher which gets the water so hot, probably the old kind would have been cleaned well too). I'm not a basting expert, just a new cook, but this gets the job done, cleans up well, and appears to be made of good quality materials. Definitely a keeper.Customer Review: Favorite pastry brush

I use this brush for pastries as well as basting. The silicon bristles in the middle are flat and have holes in them so they hold just enough liquid. This brush has made cooking/baking so much easier! Not only does it hold enough liquid, it doesn't shed any bristles, and clean up is so easy. You will no longer have to worry about putting your gunked up brush back in your drawer for later use, or throwing away a brush you've only used twice because you can't get it clean enough.
