Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of OXO Good Grips Pro Swivel PeelerCustomer Review: Guess I am old school Summary: 3 Stars
Now that I have arthritis a touch of in my hands peeling potatos has turned into a literal pain. This girl loves potatos so looked for something to help. This has some good reviews but for me it doesn't work too well. It is sharp but I can see why the serrated edge is the way to go on one of these little rascals. Serrated bites into the peel and you aren't skipping down the peeling like you can with this one. Also it's kind of big and bulky to me. The swivel doesn't help either. This all being said it does do a great job on parm cheese and choc. I will go back to paring knife.
Customer Review: Twenty-first Century Peeler! Summary: 5 Stars
I'm a creature of habit and when I like a product I stick with it. I was happy with my cheap Ecko peeler for years and years, and when I was down to my last one (yes, I stockpile) I hurriedly checked Amazon for a replacement. Well, they didn't have an Ecko peeler. Yipe! But there were excellent reviews for the OXO Good Grips so I thought I'd try it. It was like walking out of the dark ages. A great hand grip, smooth action; it never feels like you're fighting the vegetable. And it has replacement blades. Well worth the money. Thanks again Amazon!
Customer Review: Look no further Summary: 4 Stars
This is the best Peeler I've ever owned. What makes it a winner in my eyes is that that the blades are very sharp and the handle has good grip. I haven't tried to peel anything very challenging, so I don't know how it would fare with something like butternut squash, but for potatoes and cucumbers it does a great job. The only downsides are that it is a little bulky and I find the sharp tip is a little shallow, making it difficult to remove potato eyes in one go. However, the fact that it glides over your veggies effortlessly makes up for this.
Customer Review: Simply The Best Summary: 5 Stars
We have been using this peeler for a number of months now. Before this, we were using the OXO peeler which was always considered good. That is, until this peeler came into the house. With no excepetions, this is absolutely the best peeler you will use. Great construction, very sharp (blade guard included), and you can purchase replacement blades. The blades slides thru potatoes, carrots, even butternut squash. We were so impressed we bought a bunch as gifts for both side of our families. You will not be sorry if you purchase this peeler!
Customer Review: Very good peeler Summary: 5 Stars
We've used OXO Good Grips peelers for several years and we've been very happy with them. We found out about the i-Series Swivel Peeler from watching America's Test Kitchen, which highly recommended the new peeler. I wasn't sure Good Grips could improve on the old model, but this one is better. Since it arrived we have reached for the i-Series Peeler every time. It is very comfortable to use. Feels very balanced and it is super sharp. The metal tip is great for removing the bad bits from potatoes. Highly recommend this peeler.
