Customer Review: Disappointed...really disappointed.

I am really disappointed by this Oxo turner. I used it for the first time to make pancakes on a non-stick skillet. Upon first contact with the pan, the edge blistered and frayed. I doubt the pan was anywhere near the max 400 degrees.
Since I can't return it, I will use it for omelettes (cooked at a lower temperature than pancakes) and for transferring baking goods from baking sheets to cooling rack.
I would not have spent the $7 for a single-use turner. This turner is good if you don't use it for high heat cooking.

OXO has always been one of our favorite kitchen implement manufactures because of their high quality--NOT THIS PRODUCT. Incredibly, the first time this was used to make pancakes the edge of the spatula blistered and melted. We tried it on hash brown potatoes with the same result. A call to OXO customer service elicited their willingness to refund the purchase price only if we returned it--which simply isn't worth the time and trouble. Maybe it's only the blue ones this happens to? We're rethinking our opinion of OXO.Customer Review: Hits the sweet spot between flexible & strong.

Wide enough to flip thin pancakes or fried eggs with ease. Thin enough to slide underneath said eggs without breaking them. Strong enough to pick up a griddle-worth stack of pancakes, flexible enough to be very gentle on non-stick surfaces. Great for stir fry or fried rice (when you've got two).
I'm getting another one of these, and tossing all the rest of my nylon spatulas.

Just like another reviewer wrote, my black nylon head melted in front of my eyes when frying an egg. The description says this product is heat resistant to 400 degrees but I just don't believe it. I really like the flexible angled handle so I'm going to try the stainless steel head and suggest everyone else do the same!

I ordered this along with several other different kinds of spatulas; this one is my favorite. The handle is shorter, smaller, and lighter, so I feel like I have much better control while I use it. I've been using mine for about a month now, and I have never had a problem with sticking, melting, or anything of that nature.
