I used to use the two-spoons method for chocolate chip cookies. This scoop makes baking cookies a much faster, less tedious project. I bought the medium size scoop, which I find perfect the perfect size for making chocolate chip drop cookies. It's well made, the handle squeeze motion is just right and cleans easily in the dishwasher. After buying this, I don't need another size. With the large Baker's Secret 14 x 16 cookie sheets I bought from Amazon, I can bake 12 chocolate chip cookies on one cookie sheet. The cookies turn out perfectly and are uniform size. Highly recommend.

I had a cheaper one and it cramped my hands. When I got this one, I was amazed at the difference. It was easier to use and didn't "lock" like the cheap ones did. Plus, the dough comes out easier. Also, you don't have to guess whether or not you put enough dough like you do when using the spoon method. Just scoop and drop. Hint: if you want to make smaller cookies, use a spoon to scoop out a little dough from the scooper.
I rarely have problems with the scoop, but I once got a blister from using it. In spite of this, I'm happy to have it and it's worth the price.

I purchased this item 5 months ago. I do not like at all the fact that one of the plastic handle covers came loose while I was scooping the batter & dropped off hard plastic pieces in my cookie dough! Luckily, it was a light colored batter, so I was able to see the black plastic pieces before I scooped them up. I purchased both the medium & large Oxo scoop because I thought they were quality items, but this experience has changed my viewpoint. I will be replacing them both with stainless scoops without plastic parts that may potentially drop off into my food.Customer Review: Cookie-making has never been so easy

I love this cookie scoop! My least favorite part of making cookies used to be scooping the dough onto the pan because it took so long since the dough would stick onto the spoon and my fingers.
Now, it's much easier and takes less than 5 minutes to fill a pan with even dough balls. I make cookies every week or two - mostly chocolate chips and coconut macaroons - and my boyfriend loves it!
Note, to wash the scoop, I found that it should be soaked a bit (5-10minutes) in warm water to get the sugar and dough out of some of the hard to clean areas.

I bake a lot of cookies and have always found a cookie scoop to be a handy tool. However, before I got this one, I only had two sizes. Small and giant. The big one is good for muffins but it makes enormous cookies. The small one is good for some cookies, especially when the recipe says "rounded teaspoon" but too small when the recipe says "rounded tablespoon." This one is a very handy size and so far appears quite sturdy. It survived the holiday baking season and beyond and still good as new. The rubber handles are also a nice touch.
