Like everyone else it's hard to find a travel mug to keep your coffee hot and doesn't leak or spill.
Well this is one of the best for both. I bought it in December 2009 just at the point of our coldest time on the east coast. I have a 50 min cummute and the out side of te mug can get ice cold but the coffee inside was still hot. Amazing I say. Others would be cold as well as the outside. I accidently had it laying on my seat with my lunch just think I forgot my coffee, it rolled around on the seat for the entire ride. When I saw it I thought for sure the seat would be soaked. Not a drop spilled and the coffee was still hot. The only reason I didn't give is 5 stars is because it is a little difficult to clean. I only drink black coffee so it's easier just to rinse. But my wife puts cream and sugar in hers. Unless she rinses it when she's done it will build up. So just clean it when your done and all will be well. Their is a post showing how to take it apart to clean it if needed and it is easy but time consuming. Overall a great travel mug. I bought 2 as back up since normally when thins work they discontinue them

All I really wanted in a mug was something that would not spill. This baby was the best thing I found after looking all over the internet. Whether it's completely full or just has a few drops left, it never leaks. I can just toss it in my backpack without having to worry whether it will get coffee on my books. The click system is very crisp and leave no doubt whether it is sealed or not (there is nooooo inbetween). If you're a coffee drinker who likes their coffee really hot for a long time, this is your mug. I am not one of those people and I have to leave the lid off for a while before starting to drink or putting the lid on because it holds the heat that well. The only possible downfall is that it doesnt have a handle and that you can't toss it in the microwave. However even the plastic versions of this mug say you shouldn't microwave them (although you probably can). All in all I highly doubt you will find another mug that compares to this one. The closest you will probably come is a "no spill mug" that you have to screw the top off of to drink from. This mug is sweet. Buy it.Customer Review: VOMITOREUM

I have been using this mug daily to drink chocolate mocha. After a couple months of carefully rinsing it out immediately after every use, I let it sit overnight unrinsed once by accident. The next day I carefully rinsed it as usual, but then when I took my first sip I honestly gagged -- it was bitter and vile. I don't have a weak stomach, and I'm by no means focused on cleanliness, but it tasted really wrong.
So I took it home and soaked it for a while in a bleach/water solution. And flakes of nasty, curdled horror started sifting out. Having soaked it on and off for a couple days while repeatedly rinsing thoroughly, I'm *still* having crud come out. I just can't believe I was drinking that.
This mug should be withdrawn from market as a health hazard. It *cannot be cleaned.* I am using the links over to the right to report this to the CPSC (Consumer Product Safety Commission) -- I really believe it's hazardous.
Do not, do NOT buy this. You'll love it at first, but eventually you will end up throwing it away.
What a waste.
Customer Review: Cheap, Leak-proof and portable

I purchased this mug after searching the net for 2week looking for a mug that was leakproof.
I originally wanted the Nissan thermos but it was hard to come by so I ran to a local office supply store and got this one for under $10.
Well it is spill proof as advertised.
Many people complain about cleaning the top but I don't have that problem. I don't drink coffee so my mug is always filled with Tea. To clean the top, I just run water thru the top and as the way goes thru the same pathway my tea goes it cleans out the top. I'm not sure what's so hard about this or how people manage to get things stuck in there.
If anything I fill the mug with soapy water, "activate" the leakproof button and just shake it real hard, then I "Deactivate" the leakproof button and allow the soapwater to run out...once again cleaning the pathway that my tea flows thru.
Unless you leave the mug & cover unclean for days on end, then ofcourse gunk will build up which will be hard to remove(maybe hot water will get
it out).

This mug is great as far as its size - easy to hold (I'm a small woman) and fits well into all cup holders I've come across. It keeps coffee warm for hours and is spill proof. I would have bought this product again and again, except that, like many other reviewers have warned, you cannot clean inside the cap/top portion. The little button that keeps it spill proof also eventually collects and houses whatever you've put in the mug. The final straw for me was when I put the cap in the dishwasher to be cleaned (not sure if it's technically dishwasher safe), but anyhow, I put it on the top shelf, and it seemed to go through fine (didn't warp), but the next time I used the mug small pieces of food came out of the cap area when I went to take a sip! Apparently, the dishwasher had tossed food into the cap, but they were never able to come out during the cycle. That's when I noticed that you still here sloshing within the cap even after days of "drying". Unfortunately, I won't buy this product again because of this design flaw. I never found a reasonable way to clean the cap.
