This little gadget has many uses. I use it for all kinds of fruits and vegetables. You can cut an apple in half and take out the seeds without too much of the fruit. You can "shave" the inside of bell peppers easily. It works too as a garnish tool.
It is pretty durable. I dry it quickly after washing. It is dishwasher safe, but I still do not do this. I find on some things, hand washing will keep original quality longer.
The price is high for what it is. I mean almost 14.00 for a corer? Wow. Still, if you have kids or do a lot of apple/pear/pepper/etc cutting, it is nice to have.

this is one of the best kitchen gadgets i have used, for pears i would only give it a 3 but for cleaning out seeds from cucumbers and zucchini i give it a 5. if you ever have made zucchini bread you really want all the water part out and cukes make great cleaned out circles sliced. The corer works well on softer fruit but bends easily on harder things like apples, bosc or Asian pears. It also needs to be sharper. That would solve part of the proble, but it needs to be stronger.
