Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of OXO Good Grips Angled Measuring Cup, Set of 3Customer Review: Great idea - needs a little better execution in design. Summary: 5 Stars
I really love OXO equipment and I've tried to replace most of my older kitchen gear with much of their stuff. These measuring cups are really nice. The vertical-read measure marks are both easy and much more natural than holding a gallon jug of milk above your head while you keep your eyes at counter level! I'm really surprised this hasn't been copied since this style has been out for a long time. The plastic is solid, and I've used boiling water in them without cracking. They have also been through the dishwasher with no noticeable changes.
The handle is comfortable and keeps your hands from getting burned. The plastic is light enough that they aren't difficult to handle like some of my 4cup Pyrex ones.
About the only drawbacks are that they don't stack the best and mixing in them isn't the easiest because of the design. You *can* stack the smaller size in the larger by rotating it a bit off axis of the one underneath so their handles don't match up. But doing that with same size ones isn't as easy. They do stack, but It's not the best.
I give it a 4.5 on functionality and quality, saving the extra .5 because I think they can get them to stack better. I'm rounding up in this case because they are really nice. They are expensive, but I don't mind paying for quality when it's deserved.
Customer Review: It's okay - except for the handles Summary: 3 Stars
I love viewing the measuring marks from the top rather than the side of the cup - however, the handles are too long. On all but the largest model (the 4-cup size), the handle touches the countertop and may even be a tad bit longer than the cup - causing it to tilt just enough that measurements are off. I get around this problem by placing the cup on top of a thick cutting board with the handle hanging over the edge and not touching anything. I wish I didn't have to though.
Also, as another reviewer noted, they don't stack very well.
Both of these problems could be solved by making them handle-less as was done on the tiny 2 ounce model.
I am glad that someone else said that they could handle boiling water. I have been hanging on to my old glass Pyrex cups for use with very hot liquids - such as boiling water used in making Jell-O. I had assumed they'd crack or become crazed/crackled if used with boiling water. Thanks.
Customer Review: Nice design, faulty manufacture Summary: 1 Stars
I'm normally a fan of OXO products and own many of their gadgets. These measuring cups are the first problem product I've had from OXO...both the 2 cup and 4 cup sizes cracked on the bottom of the cup, right at the plastic injection point (that little circle with the tiny bump in the center of it), and they both now leak at the crack. These cracks developed very soon after I bought them, and I only ever washed them in on the top rack of the dishwasher. Because of the design of the cups, it's kinda annoying to wash them by hand - and they're not great for measuring dry ingredients for the same reason. So mine have gone into the garbage can, replaced by the KitchenAid cups of similar appearance (although without the handy interior measuring marks). My advice, keep your receipt if you buy these. Or skip them and get the KitchenAid, which have a non-slip rubber ring on the bottom, another nice feature. And they won't crack in the dishwasher.
Customer Review: Great Measuring Cups, Great Value! Summary: 5 Stars

I love these measuring cups because I can see exactly how much I'm putting into them from above instead of peering and squinting at the measuring lines from the side. They are priced well, and very useful.
I haven't had any problems with them. My husband recently began to use one of them for measuring his boiling water for oatmeal in one, and so far it has held up great. However, I like them so much, that I'm worried that the markings on the inside may wear off in time, so I'm getting him a special glass one of his own. I would therefore recommend them ideally for dry ingredients or for cool wet ingredients.
They are handy, easy to store (I can stack mine by staggering the handles) and easy to clean. The handles are made of rubber for easy gripping, very nice. I still have some of my old traditional measuring cups but I only use these.

Customer Review: Throw out the those old measuring cups! Summary: 5 Stars
If you have been measuring liquids by the "bring your eye to the level of the liquid" method taught in home economics years ago (when schools still taught home economics and dinosaurs roamed the Earth) you owe it to yourself to try these wonderful, back-saving, don't-have-to-bend-over-because-I-don't-feel-like-it measuring cups. The shape isn't what you're used to in a measuring cup: it looks as if they took a skinny little cup and smooshed it onto a larger cup by mistake. But it's perfect - like so many OXO products, someone actually sat down and thought about the way people use a measuring cup and how it could be improved. My old plastic measuring cups are now demoted to kids' toys: these are the measuring cups I plan to use from now until OXO develops another breakthrough in something as basic and simple as a measuring cup.
