I purchased this for my husband, who is the cook in our family. I was tired of him trying to make gravy and have it come out greasy. When he got this he was so excited and couldn't wait to use it. I purchased this item in order to avoid the need to be constantly tilting a regular measuring cup and skimming the fat off the top with a spoon. This cup didn't really separate the fat all that well. Factoring in the extra time it takes to clean this vs. a regular measuring cup, I don't think I gained anything. Would recommend saving your money.Customer Review: Fat-free Broth

This device is one of those items that just gets the job done well with no fuss. I have used another fat separator in the past but this one is much better. I especially like the large handle as I have large hands and the screened lid is nice as well. Also the spout plug really does the job of keeping the fat out of the spout.Customer Review: Finally

I searched the local stores for this Separator. Finally I went to Amazon and received it within days of ordering, just in time for Thanksgiving. This is great for getting the grease off home made soups, stews or gravys. I don't have a reason for using it everyday, but it does the job when needed, and aids in healther eating.
