Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of NuWave Oven: Pro Digital Black with Extender RingCustomer Review: Works Great Summary: 5 Stars
I've owned one of these for about 3 years now. It has been a Great Oven and I would recommend getting the Extender Ring, The Ring came in handy when I did my Turkey, Which turned out perfect.
Recently my Mother In-Law wanted Mr. T's Flavorwave, Which intrigued me because it has a Tempered Glass bowl rather than the Plastic one of the NuWave, However as we were ordering it, It became very Clear why the Nuwave is better. First off, I searched Google for reviews, The NuWave had much better ratings no matter where I went, The Fan Motor burning up was a repeat complaint on the Flavorwave. But what convinced me that the Nuwave was better, Their website tells you on the front page, 1 Year Manufacturer Warranty and a 2 Year Extended Warranty is included. I couldn't find anything on the Flavorwave website at all about a Warranty until I got deep into ordering it for my MIL, only then are you offered the chance to purchase a 2 year warranty for $20 extra, Flavorwave also offers a 30 day money back guarantee, Well since she wanted it, We ordered the Flavorwave for my MIL, So once she gets it and uses it for a while, I'll try to do a review on it.
Back to the Nuwave, The Model I have is the same one shown here. (Black with Digital Controls) I've used it to cook just about everything from Biscuits to Hamburgers to the above mentioned Turkey, I've never have anything turn out bad, I even wondering if it possible to burn the food using these, I never had, But it makes me wonder. As for cooking Frozen Foods, It's my favorite, Take something Frozen from the Freezer to the NuWave to the Table with Zero Thawing involved, It comes out just perfect.
As for clean up, It's pretty easy, I always hand wash the plastic dome, I've put it in the Dishwasher a few times and it comes out nice and clean, But I worry about the high heat cracking the plastic ever since reading about people having this problem with the KitchenAid Blenders, But that's another review.
They are fairly cheap, anywhere from $99 on up to $150, So I say just get one and enjoy it, I keep mine out on my kitchen counter 24/7 - But unless you have plenty of kitchen space that may not be an option for everyone as we all have other junk that takes up space, I estimate the space needed to roughly be about 2 foot square for hassle free use.
In closing, I'll say the NuWave does everything the Infomercial claims it does. Making it one of the Few Infomercials that is dead on honest. I'm expecting the Flavorwave to basically be just as good cooking as the Technology is the same as the NuWave. I do worry about the durability of the Flavorwave after reading online reviews, But I felt the same way about the NuWave when I first bought it. Thinking it wouldn't last, But so far so good.
