Customer Review: Great Oven. Does what the infomercial says!
Summary: 4 Stars

I got this oven last week after seeing it advertised on tv. I really thought the oven would be helpful and convienient to me so I looked up some reviews online and most people seem to like it so I purchased it for a total of $145.95 which included the oven, cooking rack, instructional dvd, pizza kit with cutting board, pan, 2 recepie books, 25 recepie cards, stand to hold the dome, and travel case. I really really like this oven so far. As of now, I have cooked chicken breasts, corn on the cob, steak, choc. chip cookies, hot dogs, potatoes, and breakfast sausage. With the exception of the cookies, everything came out just right. Meats were cooked juicy and moist. The cookies were a bit too overdone and hard. Everything cooks very quickly, much faster than a regular oven and comes out just right. Unlike a regular oven, the nuwave oven cooks inside out and doesn't burn the outside while the inside is still raw so it cooks very evenly. You can even put frozen food into it and it will cook quickly and perfectly. I truly couldn't believe how easy and quick it is to make dinner. I was literally done with chicken breasts, and corn on the cob in 30 minutes.
I recommend this to families of 4 or less or you may need to purchase the optional extender ring kit to accomodate more food inside the oven. I also wanted to comment on the fact that they do say this oven can grill, bake, air fry, etc. There is no controls on the oven that let you change how you are cooking, but it kind of automatically does it itself. Also, the infomercial states that you will be taking in less fat with your food and although I did see the fat come off the steak and drip into the bottom of the pan, I didn't see it with the other meats so I don't know if that part is actually true. I guess the only way to find out is if we start to loose weight later on.
Overall, this oven really does do what its supposed to and I think it is very worth the money I spent for it. It's so easy to use that even children or teens can operate it making basic foods. The dvd was somewhat helpful as is one of the cookbooks, but I use the included cooking chart the most as this tells you how long to cook your food whether its frozen or fresh in both english and spanish. It also tells you whether you should put your food on the top rack, or bottom pan. (There are two layers you can cook in). The 2nd cookbook isn't really helpful to my family as we like basic american, italian or hispanic fare, but it is more for gourmet cooks or people who like to experiment with fancier foods. Busy moms or people on the go will truly love this thing!

Customer Review: It Works !
Summary: 4 Stars

This thing actually does what the informercials tell you that it does!!
I've cooked a 14-lb turkey (not stuffed) in it. It came out perfect, was nice and juicy, and cleanup was SOOO much easier than cooking the thing in the oven! And I had plenty of fat and juices in the bottom pan for my turkey gravy. Also, the skin was nicely crisped. I have another turkey that I will cook soon; this time I'm going to stuff it and see how that works.
It is almost completely silent. If you stand right by it you might hear a faint whisper of air rushing in it.
It cleans up easily. The dome fits over the water tower in nthe lower rack of the dishwasher and the extender ring fits nicely in the top rack. They leave enough room for a fair amount of other stuff.
Why only 4 stars? Well, there's a couple of things they don't show you in the infomercial. First, this thing is really big! You can't leave it out on the countertop (unless you have LOTS of counter space!), so you need cupboard space for it. That means when you want to use it you have to get it out, find counter space for it and assemble it. Not hard, but a bit inconvenient.
I've cooked steaks and the turkey in it. But -- the instructions say to turn them over halfway through cooking them. Easy with steaks, awkward with turkey (the first half you cook the turkey upside down). I don't know how that would affect a stuffed turkey, though. Also, my turkey didn't fit in completely flat, but that didn't seem to bother the final result.
It works well with both thawed and frozen t-bone steaks. The meat is tasty and juicy even though a lot of fat drips off. I found that for medium doneness you need to cook steak about one minute longer per side than their instructions suggest. However, because of the way this thing cooks, your steaks won't have the crisp (burned) outside that grilling or broiling gives you.
Like other reviewers do, I recommend putting foil over the bottom pan. Crimp it on to the pan, too; otherwise the air circulation in the unit can lift the foil well above the pan.
I haven't had it long enough to rate its durability. I haven't tried vegetables, frozen pizza or other meats yet, but for what I've done with it, it works as they say it does.

Customer Review: Not All That
Summary: 1 Stars

I had the original nu wave and dumped it after 6 months of use because the dome cracked and there is no replacement. I received this new and so called improved, as a gift, and very disappointed with it. The control panel is great, you basically set it and forget it, however the racks are of a cheap material and don't rest properly, they wobble. Cleaning is not easy, especially when the dome gets stained, it is hard to remove, don't use a hard scrubber on it as it will mar eventually. Its made of some hard cheap plastic material, that cracks from the heat, don't put it in your dishwasher. One writer suggested wrapping aluminum foil, but it just makes it hotter on the dome. They should have used glass. The food, usually cooks well, but not all the way through and you have to turn it. I don't think the infared part of the machine does anything with cooking, there is something wrong, because with proper convection, you don't have to turn your food. Within two weeks , yes count em' two, the dome cracked again!. NuWave customer service is the pits. Don't order this through their website, as they attempt to make you buy additional units on a reduced price, plus shipping for each extra, things for it such as racks, extenders, tote bags, and if you do, there is a seperate shipping charge for each! Go with the basics here, and expand later if you like the machine, which I don't. But if you order it, order it through here, Amazon as always had a great return policy. I went back to my Deni Countertop Convection oven, which is the best!!! It heats the food evenly, made of heavy glass and super easy to clean. I don't trust ordering through infomercials. Lesson learned. Had to return it to Nu Wave, and have to pay for another shipping fee to send it back. If I get a new one back, I'll just wrap it up and give it to someone that I know won't use it for Xmas lol

Customer Review: SUPRISED
Summary: 4 Stars

At first sight, i thought, this will be another gadget for the closet, seldom used because of it's size and cleaning. We cooked ribeye steaks on the grill that were perfect and there were two left to be cooked. I followed the directions for cooking times for medium rare. They came out tough, dry, and over cooked. The next day i cooked jalepeno poppers, they were good but not good enough to live with the size of this cooker on my counter 24-7, and the "clean up in the dishwasher" had to be washed by hand.
I was ready to pack it up and send it back and was waiting for the ok since it was my husband who had to have this after a sleepless night watching the informercial.I had thawed 4 chicken breast to cook on the Forman grill, and decided to try ONE on the nu wave to confirm my findings. Suprise!! it was wonderful, i cooked the other three with different spices and found them to be tender and full of juice. The next day i decided to sacrifice (if i had to) a pork tenderloin. I threw away the boxes that the nu wave came in, i put the owners manual and menu book in a counter drawer, i made room on my counter for my new "little" oven, i went to the grocery store and purchased 5 tenderloins they had just put on sale. Realizing i had cleared the shelf, a lady asked, "what kind of roast WERE they and how do you cook them?" I then gave the ultimate compliment, a testimonial to how wonderful this tenderloin was on this cooker, how it tasted like a filet. She Knew it was true because i EMPTIED the counter of meat. She replied, "i am going to have to get one of those". IN SUMMARY: not everything was great, but the foods that were good, were exceptional! I am definately happy with my purchase and i have been using it for one month now.thanks. teresa WISH THERE WERE MORE RECIPES. THE APPLE CRISP IS REALLY GOOD AND I SUBSTITUTED SPLENDA PRODUCTS FOR SUGAR.

Customer Review: NuWave Oven Pro Digital model 20326
Summary: 5 Stars

I purchased one of these ovens for myself and my sister after watching the infomercial numerous times. It is truly amazing to say the least. Since receiving mine for $139.99 using the super saver shipping method, I have used it almost daily and have cooked cornish hens, leg of lamb, pork loin roast, chicken leg quarters, whole duckling, toasted bagels and english muffins. Everything has cooked perfectly using the included cooking chart and have tried the cornish hens and chicken quarters frozen and fresh. It is best to thaw meats before cooking as it tastes better and saves time and energy as well. My favorite meal so far has been cornish hen cooked whole after rubbing all over with about a tablespoon of olive oil and sprinkling with McCormick rotisserie chicken seasoning. This only takes a total of 30 minutes as recommended by the included cooking chart and is the best overall $3.00 meal so far. This oven will definitely save you time and money and you'll be impressed with how juicy and grease free your food turns out. I like to watch the food as it cooks as it does so with a maximum of 1500 watts using the highest of ten power levels which is what is recommended by the cooking chart unless reheating previously cooked food. The clean up has been very easy as this model is the black and stainless upgraded model and includes the extender ring kit which would sell together for $184.92 plus very costly shipping and handling if ordered directly from Hearthware which makes the price around $200.00. Amazon.com has the lowest price including shipping that is available for this oven so you can't go wrong ordering one from them. I only wish that I had purchased one of these when they first hit the market. Thanks Amazon.com for carrying this amazing cooking appliance and offering it at the best price!!!
