Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Nostalgia CCP509 Full-Size PopperCustomer Review: Great little popper - recommend Summary: 5 Stars
We are VERY particular, gourmet popcorn people. The finest popcorn on Earth can be found at the Karmelkorn Shoppe in Gatlinburg, TN. (Butter-flavored with drawn butter) Using this little popper, we have been able to duplicate that popcorn... ours is now identical to it in every way. Any popper that can do that for us, deserves our highest recommendation. (Of course, you must also buy the finest gourmet popcorn, plus the best butter-flavored coconut oil for popping, and Supur-Kist II butter topping... but hey... it's all worth it!!)
Customer Review: Great Gift Summary: 5 Stars
This is an excellent item if you are looking for something larger than a counter-top unit. I like it better than microwave, which is easy to burn. If, by chance, you got distracted, and did not empty the kettle when the popping stopped, any burned kernels would remain in the kettle, and not affect the rest of the popcorn. I reduced the amount of oil by half, with no difference in quality. All the supplies, including the popcorn can be stored in the base. The machine is easy to clean.
Customer Review: wonderful creation Summary: 4 Stars
We love our new Popcorn maker. It was fairly simple to assemble and we are getting a handle on just how much popcorn and oil to add as well as how long to wait for the unit to heat. Simple to clean up. The only thing we can't figure out is how long we should wait between dumping first batch and making the next. It seems to take forever to pop and I think it works best if you leave it sit for maybe 15 min before re-starting. Otherwise, we love it!!
Customer Review: DINKY CHILD'S TOY - DO NOT BUY Summary: 1 Stars
Full-sized popper?? This popper looks way smaller in person than it does in the pictures. The wheels are tiny and the accessories are cheaply made. It's not even gold or brass plated, it's actually spray-painted gold...When I finally got around to making popcorn, it popped sooo slow and left almost half the kernels unpopped. I will be returning this one and buying a different brand that doesn't look like it was made for kids.
Customer Review: for the most part very nice Summary: 4 Stars
I was impressed with how nice it looks in our basement. adds a real nice touch to the theme we have of a movie theatre. the only problem we have with it is that the gears don't always stay matched up with each other. if this fails, the popcorn will burn really quick. if the one drops out of mesh, the scraper stops moving. other than that we have been really pleased. just make sure the gears are securely engaged when you start.
