I purchased the Nostalgia CCP509 full sized popcorn cart for home use and thus far it has been exceptional. It is beautiful, and does what it is supposed to. It does smoke a bit in the hopper, but from what I have read from other reviewers that is normal. I have had batches of popcorn that pop 95% and some that have popped 50%. Most of the time more pops than not. So I am thinking is operator error (the oil ratio or how much time I give it to preheat). Being a full sized machine it is not too difficult to clean. When buying it, you have to know it will be more work than a small air popper. But I don't find it to be difficult. The storage compartment is super handy, the cart is adorable, the wheels function and popcorn maker works great!Customer Review: pleasantly suprised

I was wary of buying this machine after one of the other reviews but have been very pleased with it. It arrived in about a week and amazon was offering free shipping promo at the time. We put it together in about 30 min with no problems. The metal is a little thin but has a good paint job and no dents. The "glass" seems to be plexi-glass. I have not had any trouble with the motorized arm not being strong enough to push the popcorn out. One popping makes enough to fill up a large movie theater bucket. The oil and seasonings you use make a huge difference in the taste. We like coconut oil to pop the kernels in with butter flavored oil for the topping- good and greasy and bad for you but really yummy.Customer Review: In the end happy...

This was a gift from santa claus... We were very pleased with the speedy delivery, however when un packing it Christmas Eve to put it together, we found that we had to clean the entire machine so that it would look brand new. The purchase was for a brand new pop corn machine and it had clearly been used. So needless to say we were very scared it wasn't even going to work. it had un popped pop corn in it, left over oil residue, the glass was totally smeared with yuc. Not a great feeling on Christmas Eve. We have since used it and are happy to report it is working, however, if I wanted a gently used one I would have bid for one on ebay. I was disappointed in the popper. First off they use platic panels not glass for the popping machine, easily scratched and stained. The cart is ok made of tin, but you can see where they painted over rust spots, should only be a matter of time before rust eats its way through. The worst part though is the actual popping bowl itself, The auto stirring wand binds up when the corn starts popping, it appears the motor isn't strong enough to push through the popped corn and expell it from the bowl. When I pop the corn I must stand there and watch for the stirer to bind up turn off the machine dump the popped corn restart and continue until all corn is popped. Got this for Christmas. Assembly of the cart can be tricky. Holes can be hard to line up for bolts.
Not made for Heavy Duty commercial use.
Popcorn stir bogs down and stops when bowl fills up.
Popcorn bowl comes unpluged when tilting to empty popped popcorn.
The popper is small. Only 4 ounces. Ready to go popcorn kits are made for 8 ounces. You will have split oil and popcorn in half and pop a half at a time.
Overall...great little cooker! Makes a great conversation piece. Makes the Home Theater smell like a REAL movie theater. Best Christmas gift I ever got.
