This is a great little pasta drying rack, and the price is right. The main pole screws into the base, and the drying rods then get inserted through the main pole. The pasta sides off of the raw wood poles very easily when you are ready to cook it. Plus it all disassembles in a second to be easily stored, taking up little room. This is one of those rare kitchen devices that just effortlessly works from moment one, with no fuss or instructions needed. You don't realize how handy this thing is until you have and use it. I formerly laid my pasta out on the counter, which does work, but also promotes much more clumping together, even with lots of flour tossed about. This rack is a much better solution.
It's a winner. I would say that if you are making a lot of pasta--for 4-6 people--that this might be a little small, and you might consider two of these units.

I absolutely love this thing and as a matter of fact have three of them. Even a complete klutz like myself can assemble one of these in a snap. No more drying your wonderful pasta on the counter or (and I blush when I say this) using a cloths drying rack...this is much more classy. No more yucky clean up and no more flour on my dark unmentionables. Clean up is an absolute breeze...completely no problem.
Quite often simplicity is the best and that old saying certainly hold true with this product. Like another reviewer here, I must tell you that the wood these are made from is not the strongest so don't let your sister's insufferable brats play with it too much as it will not stand the handling of three Neanderthal larva for very long.
All in all, I could not be happier with a product.

The dowels did not fit firmly in the holes, so that they would slide when I was taking pasta on and off. Also, it does not store well, if one takes the dowels out, you need a rubber band or something to attach them to the post so you don't loose them. I'm afraid I got rid of it and replaced it with one of the ones where all the (plastic) arms spiral out, and the tripod feet retract in straight -- and that has tucked into the center pole a really handy rod for hanging and unhanging the noodles, which I find surprisingly useful.
However, if you were thinking about getting it, and storage is not an issue for you, and you don't mind fooling with it a little bit to get the dowels to stay firmly in place, there's no reason you wouldn't be happy with it.

I can't believe something SO simple, could be so USEFUL! I make a LOT of homemade noodles and pasta, and WHO WOULD HAVE EVER THOUGHT this little rack could come in so handy. It's awesome. Each year, I make oodles of home made noodles, using the old technique of rolling them out, letting them dry,cutting them and then freezing them, so I would have ready made noodles for Chicken soup, Beef N Noodles etc. Now, I just make my dough, run them through my "NEW" noodle/pasta maker machine, and hang them on this wonderful drying rack...it's PERFECT! If your a noodle maker, you will LOVE THIS!!! It's simply fabulous!!! The noodle/pasta machine? A MUST if you like to make your own. This pasta drying rack is simple and very functional. I find its holding capacity equals the yield of an average batch of pasta, enough for about 4-6 servings. I think if I were entertaining and doubling my recipe I could probably squeeze it all on without much trouble. To store the rack, remove the dowels and lay them all together. You will need storage space enough for the base, about 8 inches, and for the dowels, about 18 inches. I store it all in my baking cabinet under my island countertop. If you are like me, maybe you have been hanging your noodles/pasta anywhere you can find a place. ha ha :) - that works okay but it's really great to finally have a rack and for the price you really can't go wrong!
