Yes, this item is dishwasher safe, and there's a rubber foot on the base to add traction when using an electric mixer. However, I bought this item not noticing the fatal flaw. The dimpled end for pouring is beveled off, making it nearly impossible to pour the mixed contents into another container, (in my case mason jars.) Unless you have the patience to empty a gallon slow enough that the liquid is less than soda-straw wide, you WILL make a mess. I mix BBQ sauce by the gallon in that bowl, and on average I lose a pint because the tiniest of twitches will increase the pour-rate to that of a milkshake straw, which causes the contents to fly out the sides like a garden hose with a thumb on the nozzle. This would be a GREAT product if not for the 1/4" of beveling at the spout. As-is, I'm going to look for something better, and may use this bowl for an unintended purpose like a bicycle helmet, because I'm pretty sure it can protect my skull better than serve its intended purpose.
