I believe in buying things that last. When the wife suggested we get a french fry cutter I said I would get her one for Christmas which means I'll buy the best one I could find. It boiled down to three models. The others I deemed too cheap. This one is stainless steel with an easy to insert "pusher pad" and "cutting grid". It has a vacuum pad that keeps the cutter well anchored on the kitchen counter. I have to agree with another reviewer though, this cutter will only take a 3.75 inch potato which is why I downgraded it to 4 stars.
