Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Norpro Cast Aluminum Tortilla PressCustomer Review: Norpro Cast Aluminum Tortilla Press Summary: 4 Stars
The press is efficient, light and attractive. The picture on the box and ad are shiny and my product was dull, which was disappointing as the shiny press pictured looks very sharp indeed. The important part, does it work well?, is true to form. You won't get a better job done unless you are also willing to go for the heavier, iron model which I also own. For the price and the job, the Norpro Aluminum is fine.
Customer Review: No Press... No Tortilla Summary: 5 Stars
Take it from a tortilla trial and error survivor - get this press.I thought it would be pretty easy to buy some Masa Harina, mix it up and roll out some nice tortillas... WRONG! It's pretty easy to make flour tortillas without a press, but trying to make corn tortillas requires a press - no two ways about it. Save yourself tons of time, frustration and make some fresh corn tortillas - buy this press
Customer Review: just what I wanted. Summary: 5 Stars
This little press is just right. I don't want enormous tortillas (as another reviewer pointed out, you should be aware that it will not make giant burrito-sized tortillas--but who wants corn tortillas that big?)...I just wanted something that is simple and that does the job. This was a good choice and the price is right. It has already paid for itself in the delicious tortillas I have made with it.
Customer Review: Fast and EASY Summary: 4 Stars
I have been rolling out tortillas for years and finally decided to buy a tortilla press. I can whip them out in NO time (my grandson helps me and has a great time!). The only downfall is that they are small - but still taste as delicious! My husband loves fresh corn flour or white flour tortillas and now eats them 3-4 times a weeks as opposed to once every few months now that I have this press.
Customer Review: Tortilla pressing skills Summary: 4 Stars
Practice is what it takes. Once you get the hang of it the tortillas taste so good.I used heavy wax paper to line both sides of the press. Then sprayed a little pan oil spray on both side and inserted a rolled ball of corn dough. Learning how hard to press how much dough and the right mix of dough and water is the tricky part. It was really worth the trouble since the tortillas taste so fresh.
