I was afraid that the tortillas I would make would be too small. I got it out of the box and used the enclosed recipe. (I ended up needing more water.) However. Using parchment paper and having the dough ready ahead of time, making tortillas was a breeze. Took me a few tries to get placement good on the press, but after that, success. I didn't want tortillas too thin, and they weren't. I would recommend this. (One piece of advice, make the dough a little more on the wet side, but let it sit, and then the dough is easier to manage.)Customer Review: Small, handy and useful

The Norpro Cast Aluminum Tortilla Press is smaller than I expected, but still found it really useful. The best thing is it is light weight, easy to use and store. It makes beautiful, round tortillas. You need not have to give it too much pressure unless you need a really thin sheet of dough, otherwise a little press would do the trick. Over all I liked it. Infact it worked better than my expectations... these days I make a lot of whole grain wheat tortillas... with this little helper in my kitchen.Customer Review: Cast aluminum is the way to go

I checked out tortilla presses at Williams Sonoma and Sur la Table before getting this one. The others were crusted over with cheap chrome jobs, one that looked like goopy silver spray paint. One display model's finish was even chipping in the store - there's no way nasty flakes of chrome are going in my fresh tortillas! This press is cast aluminum and just beautiful. It works well and, if you use wax paper or plastic wrap when you press the dough, it doesn't require cleaning at all.Customer Review: Quick, fresh tortillas for a good price

I'm happy with this product overall. Compared to rolling by hand it's awesomely fast. I can press out a batch in just a minute or two.
There's another review here that points out that this press doesn't press evenly, and that's true. It doesn't bother me much, though, and doesn't seem to affect the quality of the finished tortillas. I would also prefer a heavier press, but the aluminum works well enough. And, for the price? I'm not going to complain. Worth a buy.

This little press sells at Williams-Sonoma for $20 plus a ton of shipping charges. I have to say, it is one of the neatest and most used presses I've ever owned. This SIMPLE press is a lot better than other "fancier" presses. Use wax paper or parchment to remove your tortilla without a hitch (like other reviews mentioned). It so worth it! I love the press and I love Amazon for always finding exact items without the pumped up prices.
