I make banana breads 5 at a time. It's a great way to use bananas that have gone too ripe. I just pop them in the freezer and when I have enough, it's banana bread time. Okay, I know I am turning a healthy, albeit starchy fruit into an unhealthy sugar and oil laden belly buster but, hey, I hate to throw anything out. But I digress.
With all that flour to sift, the hand squeezer leaves me with a jonseing for Tylenol bigtime. My stupid husband told me that technologically the sifter is still where it ever was, you either crank or squeeze. In fact, a perusal of both kitchen supply stores and antique shops led me to believe that perhaps this one time, he was right. Until alas, I spotted the battery operated sifter on Amazon. Indeed the simple act of sifting flour has entered the 21st Century. I am thinking about new uses for sifted flour all the time now. Best of all, I got to once again prove my husband wrong. That alone was worth the price of the sifter. If I could only think of a reason to buy two, I would do so in a heartbeat.
