Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Norpro 6-Count Nonstick Donut PanCustomer Review: A small problem with delivery Summary: 5 Stars
I recently ordered the Norpro nonstick Doughnut pan, a few weeks befor halloween. I wanted to be creative, and show up with Home Made Doughnuts. Well somehow my order was lost in the mail. Maybe it was delivered to an incorrect address, and the person who recived it,liked it so much that they kept it, I don't know. What I do know is when I informed the the seller, of the problem, she was so sorry about the problem with my order, and would send out another norpro non stick doughnut pan immediatly. Problem solved. I received the doughnut pan in two days, and was able to make home made applesauce doughnuts, for the Halloween party I was attending. MY doughnuts were a big success. Even if I didn't win "most original costume". My doughnuts came in first. I am extremely happy with the price of the Norpro doughnut nonstick pan from this seller. It was a really good deal, compaired to some of the other companys selling the same product. My pan is also really good quality, for the price.
Customer Review: Good For You Donuts Summary: 5 Stars
My husband and I were craving donuts - but cannot have the fat and cholesterol that deep fried ones have. We decided to try a couple of these pans and they were very easy. I scooped the dough in - cleaned and moved the dough off the middle - which was easier than using a pastry or plastic bag, as the recipe stated. I used a recipe off the internet that had whole wheat pastry flour, applesauce, a little egg and oil - very good. I melted a little dark chocolate and added some chocolate ice cream sauce (for easier spreading) for the frosting. Everything was organic and lower in fat - we enjoyed them and didn't feel guilty about it!
There was only one minor item - one of the pans came a little dented in the rim. This didn't effect the shape of the donuts since the donut shape part was fine - they were probably dented in Amazon's storage or shipment. It wasn't worth sending it back, worked fine.
Customer Review: Donut pan doesn't brown well Summary: 3 Stars
My kids were super excited to make donuts at home. I made the recipe on the package and the result was that it had good flavor but the donut color was too light, more "blonde". I tried making with brown sugar but that didn't help. It's really more like a donut-shaped muffin. The pan is silver and not black as well. When I saw the package I was so excited because it had examples of all types of fun donuts with sprinkles and frosting. I can't imagine how you would be able to get them that brown without frying them. I did try contacting the company and did not receive a reply.
However, that being said (thank you Larry David), my kids loved them and were very happy. We eat gluten-free so this is a nice alternative to buying frozen ones which are expensive.
Customer Review: Great product - love baked doughnuts! Summary: 5 Stars
I wasn't sure how much I would use this pan but I have a cooking blog and I read a lot of other ones and I kept seeing yummy looking recipes for baked doughnuts, so I decided to get one. This was a great purchase! So far I've made Spice Doughnuts, Strawberry Doughnuts and Lemon Poppy Seed Doughnuts and they've all turned out delicious. I lightly mist the pan with cooking spray before filling with batter and the doughnuts slide out perfectly after baking. I've never had any trouble spooning the batter into the spaces, which you should fill about 2/3 full to get perfect sized doughnuts. Every recipe I've made so far with this has been quick and easy and it was nice to be able to bring healthier doughnuts to work instead of the fried kind. Great product!
Customer Review: Just need the right recipe... Summary: 5 Stars
I got this pan as a gift and it is wonderful... The donuts came out perfect shape. The donuts came right off the pan clean up was a breeze. They baked in the oven perfectly no problems. The donut pans are light weight but durable. This is a good pan you just need the right donut recipe...
I sprayed it with cooking oil and put the chocolate donut batter (the one that was on the label) into the pan. I glazed them and tried them... they were cake-like donuts, alright thought half of my family liked them and the other half did not go for them.
If anyone has a good donut recipe any flavor please share in the comments... THANKS!!!
