Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Norpro 3980 12-Count Nonstick Mini Donut PanCustomer Review: Healthy donuts Summary: 5 Stars
This donut pan is a great pan. Donuts are usually fried and unhealthy. But you can make delicious donuts that are healthy in this pan by following the included recipes and then baking them instead of frying them. I have used our favorite muffin recipes in it, too. Instead of a muffin, they look like donuts. The grandkids love them. I have two pans now, so I don't have to wait for one batch to come out. 1/2 recipe makes two pans full.
Customer Review: Great alternative to deep frying Summary: 4 Stars
I run a daycare and wanted a fun option for "special" treats/snacks. The kids love decorating these donuts as much as they love to eat them. The ingredients are simple pantry staples and the two recipes included are tasty. I have also made donut shaped muffins in this pan. My only complaint and the reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because the pan could be twice the size. Being able to make 24 at a time would be much more convenient.
Customer Review: mini donuts Summary: 2 Stars
Really must use the cake recipes included, but tried converting a easy-bake cake mix (probably needs more cake flour) and the donuts were so-so, being too light and fluffy. Cake donuts are heavier than cake mix cakes, so that was my error.
I purchased these in attempt to bake non-wheat, non-gluten donuts, and will continue trial and effort.
I'm eager to try again, and I will also upgrade to the full-size pan.
Customer Review: Not non-stick, Summary: 1 Stars
I want to like this pan. The donuts are really cute BUT 8 out of 10 stick to the pan - every time. I've tried it several times with a 1/2 a teaspoon of oil in each and they still stick. Tried leaving them in to cool, taking them out immediately, waiting a few minutes, nothing makes a difference, it's just not non-stick. Plus it scratches so easily, making me worry about all the little flakes of the so-called non-stick coating.
Customer Review: Nonstick pan for yummy donuts Summary: 5 Stars
I was surprised to see a review saying they had problems with their donuts sticking to the pan. I haven't run into that at all. One of the things I love about this pan is how you don't need any oil. You do need to let them cool about 5-10 mins before removing. Maybe that's why your donuts are sticking?
I would buy two if I were buying again though, because who only makes 12 mini donuts at a time?
