Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Norpro 370 Bread Slicerand Guide with Crumb CatcherCustomer Review: rip off Summary: 1 Stars
I used this slicer twice. The first time, the end kept falling out. I glued that in and the second time I used it, 2 of the tines broke. The loaves from the breadmaker don't fit and there is no adjustment, it just keeps sliding around and you can't get an even slice. If the tines hadn't broke, it would be in the mail back to China or wherever. Cheap shoddy merchandise, stay away from it.
Customer Review: Don't waste your money! Summary: 1 Stars
I wish I had read the previous review before I bought this, because it was not worth it!! It is too wide for a normal bread knife, and the slices DO NOT come out even and pretty. I got more even slices just using my hand to hold the bread than I did using this. I was really looking forward to having nice, thin bread slices on my homeade bread and this was a huge disappointment. Don't buy it!
Customer Review: Bread Slicer Summary: 5 Stars
I am very pleased with the Norpro Bread Slicer and Guide. I especially love the crumb catcher. It's easy to clean which is another plus. My only complaint was not having a bread knife long enough to cut through the bread without slipping out of the slot. After purchasing a 10 inch long bread knife everything is perfect. Now I'm back to using my bread maker and enjoying homemade bread.
Customer Review: Does the job well Summary: 4 Stars
There may be ways that this could be improved, but it is so much better than trying to slice bread without a guide that it is well worth the cost. It catches most of the crumbs, and I'm now able to slice bread with some degree of consistency. Over time I expect that the wooden base might be pretty badly cut up, but for now a little sawdust mixed with the breadcrumbs won't hurt anything!
Customer Review: Does its job Summary: 4 Stars
Easy to assemble and works as stated. You will need a long bread knife to cut to be able to stay within the guide. Would prefer a bit of a thinner slice and some way to avoid cutting down into the wood. Also a way to easily remove the plastic guide from the wood for thorough washing would improve the design tremendously. I would definitely buy this product again for myself or as a gift.
