I've been using this a few weeks now, and love it.
I had been using bowls to hold my scraps for the compost pile. I find that my kitchen counter not only looks better with the scraps neatly hidden in the canister, but I can save up scraps for about a week before I have to empty it - partly because it's bigger than the bowls I was using and partly because the filters really do control odor.

This little guy works much better then the bread bags that I used to reuse! The finish matches all my appliances in my kitchen and the retro mini-garbage-can-look fits in with my collectable kitsch. It wipes down well. My only complaint is I wish it was bigger. I love this compost keeper. I make a trip to the garden compost pile every other day. The Stainless steel is heavy enough and the lid fits snug. no smells at all. The small bucket I used before was adequate, but the smell and the bugs it attracted was not nice. No more smell or bugs with this compost keeper. Love it and highly recommend it. I own this compost Keeper and thats just what it is. it does NOT compost your scrap it merly holds it until you transport it to the compost pile. the odor elimenator charcole pads were very un-helpful because they did there job so well. you never know when mold is starting to form in there ( Which is regularly). this product is a waste of 60 dollars and could be easily substituted with a bucket.Customer Review: Compost keeper is a winner

I'm very happy with this compost keeper. It replaces a ceramic one that chipped - the stainless is much more practical. The capacity is larger than my previous one and the lid fits very well - odors seem to be well contained. I had seen one that was cheaper but saw comments about ill-fitting lids, and decided this was too much of a daily use item to low-ball the purchase. Good decision.
