It looks nice and keeps my kitchen from smelling with the compostable waste in it. However, it is very delicate and the lid has already cracked from being dropped about 6 inches onto a laminate counter top. For something I use every day while doing dishes (and thus have wet slippery hands) I would like something a little more durable. I like the bright red "fire-plug" quality! It serves its purpose, but has to be dumped several times per week (which is a hassle in the winter!). I did not purchase the liner bags - but I find it helpful to trim a brown lunch sack to fit. I have seen the white version at World Market for half this price.Customer Review: Kitchen composting

This is a nice addition to my kitchen. It makes it much more convenient to add trimmings etc. to my compost. Prevents my lazy habit of throwing things directly in the trash. One good tip would be to buy the compostable bags to make it even easier!Customer Review: Great idea, looks great in kitchen.

I have red appliances, so this fits in great, especially with my kitchen aid mixer. The only think that worries me is that since it is ceramic, I feel like it won't take long before I chip it, exposing a chunk of white under that beautiful red.Customer Review: Not a good solution

This product was recommended and seemed to fit what I needed. However, it caused an ant infestation. I would skip this product and get something with a lid that seals completely so that you have no unpleasant, unexpected visitors.
