Customer Review: Lamp falls over onto desk

Many others have noted the same thing. This lamp is poorly designed, and the head falls onto the desk after a few weeks of use. If you try to tighten the screw that holds the lamphead up, after awhile the screw no longer tightens (something must get stripped inside) and the lamp becomes completely useless. I wish I had heeded others' advice. I'm now online looking for a replacement lamp -- one that will stand up over time!!!Customer Review: a great desk lamp.

This is a great lamp. Larger (almost 2ft in height and 8in diameter at the base) and heavier(8lbs) than i expected. Its made of silver aluminum though out. the lamp swivels at the base and at its head with side swivel also. The added plus is the socket located at the base. Its convenient for plugging in chargers (cell phone ipod ect). Great price and fast shipping, and it even qualifies for amazon prime.Customer Review: Tall desk lamp

This is a really nice looking desk lamp and very functional. The brushed steel gives it a more expensive look than the reasonable price I paid on Amazon. I like the broad light that is cast from the tall frame, and the extra power outlet is very handy to have on top of the desk. This lamp serves our needs on our computer desk. It has much softer light than a halogen that we previously purchased even with a CFL bulb. I wish it was an inch or two taller to reach over our large monitor. It would reach over a standard sized monitor. I wanted to like this lamp. It looked good and the AC socket on the base is a real bonus to plug a charger into. But sadly the screw at the base gets lose easily and the lamp falls down. Tighten it up and a few days later it falls down again. Just not a good design.The shade is poorly mounted also.
