Customer Review: Its not the old reliable Micro-Go-Round

We had a Micro-Go-Round for years and it worked the way you would expect one to work. After it died I ordered one of these. It didn't work right out of the box. Did I over wind it? I don't know. With the old model I could spin it with one finger. With this model you have to flip it over and use your whole hand being carefull to push evenly. The instructions said to wind until you felt resistance. I could not detect any change in resistance as I slowly wound it until it stopped.
I exchanged it, (Amazon was great) and wound the new one carefully. We repeated had problems with it not starting and not stoping. The instructions specify that you need a 6oz minimum weight in order to make it start . I used a 16 oz cake box. Unless the box was dead center in the middle it would not turn. When I removed the box it would start and not stop. (Many times, not every time) At times we would be in a different room and suddenly hear it start turning.
I returned the 2nd one and and bought the old model,(used),with the on / off switch to start and stop it.
