This item even at a price a few dollars from 'list', is just twaddle. Yes you put it over your reheated take outs. It's just a single piece of plastic with a hole on top. If you buy a cake, something similar is often included free. And local, NYC, chinese take-outs offer similar lids gratis. A dozen things around will offer the same modest help in the micro. Also it retains the *smell*, yes, even after a sudsy soak. Save your $7+. My first negative review. I don't offer my opinions lightly.

I've been using this almost daily for six months. It has been a huge help keeping the microwave clean. The cover is very easy to clean, too, and has a sturdy construction. Be careful taking it out of the microwave, though. Tip it when you lift so that steam rises away from you. This cover has a larger diameter than most other covers I looked at, which was important for our large and square plates, but I wish it was still another 1/2" wide and tall for some of our dishes.Customer Review: Great Cover

We purchased the 11" Nordic Ware Microwave Plate Cover and love it. It works perfectly. We get a plate put our leftovers or something we want to heat up in the microwave, put the cover on it, put it in the microwave and press the re-heat button and wow, the food is heated perfectly throughout with no mess in the microwave. We recommend this microwave plate cover to everyone, if you have a microwave this is a must have. It is made exceptionally well. We love it.Customer Review: Works perfectly

This plate cover is the perfect size. I love it! Fits my plates wonderfully and is deep enough. I do have it sitting atop bowls sometimes but it still works fine. The vent opening in the top is a nice feature... keeps everything moist. Made of a very sturdy plastic. It's dishwasher safe but I have yet to clean it in there. I've been washing it by hand just to be on the safe side. I love it though. Now if I can only get my husband to leave it in the microwave....Customer Review: Microwave Cover does the job!

If there's anything I hate to do, its clean out a dirty, sticky microwave. The Nordic Ware 11-in Microwave Plate Cover handles the spits and spatters,and most of the problems to ease this dirty task. The product is sturdy, has clean design and is very easy to use. I've had others that actually melt in the M'wave heat. I wish the edge of this were a bit wider so it could manage the occasional larger platter, but that's the only wish-list for this little dandy.
